Stan, that's what I was thinking..was probably John. John Owens is great to work with (he will customize whatever you need), is a terrific craftsman, and has honesty and integrity. He did a great job repairing my M15 rudder and also built me a new one. I would definitely do business with him again. -Neil

Ida Sailor Rudder

I'm considering spending the big bucks that Ida Sailor wants for the Monty 17 rudder. Before I do I wanted to ask the group if they thought the product to be a good one. I just purchased M17 #600. She has a wood kick up rudder now and a back up solid one piece rudder (quite an impressive piece of wood!!!). Looking forward to reading your opinions! Mike Johnson M17 #600 'Ohana

Motor mount?

I need to put a new motor mount on my Sandpiper 565. In looking though the archives the only recommendation I found is the the one from Catalina. It looks like the one on the M17. What is on the new M17 or Sage? Thanks Doug Kelch M15 G #310 "Seas the Day" Sandpiper 565 #192 "Take Five"

M17 backstay

Hi gang, I am having a time getting the backstay wire diameter on my M17 '04 model; my dial calipers say just over 1/8, but not definitively 5/32? (actually the reading is about 9/64). Anybody have the true figure? The thread size on the swaging appears to be 1/4". Thanks, Tom Jenkins M17 Scintilla
