the web-site.

Are there any other sax players out there (or anyone else
for that matter) who can tell me about same of the extended
techniques that Zorn utilises in his player.
John
Does anyone have any informations about Locus Solus Birthday Celebration. Is
this anything like studio version. I would be glad to hear "Bass and the
Treble" again.
For anyone interested I would recomend two future concerts in Amsterdam

Hi!
What about a pre-show drink or something in Brussels on wednesday? I travel
there alone from sweden, so it would be cool with a chat.
My suggestion: Let's meet at the entrance of the venue at 16:00 and find
someplace near. I will see this guy Kevin from this list one hour before the
show at the cd-stand, so come there and say hi if you can't make it to
16:00.
Anyone have any tips about jazz- or rockclubs in Brussels? I'll also be
there the day before the show and want some live music.
Later all,
Mattias

Is there any preview tracks available on the net from the new Sonic Youth
album? I think somebody mentioned it, somewhere, on some list...

<<What's wrong with Book M? In my book, Book M is a masterpiece. And if you consider the other albums sketches, man, they sure are a hell of a sketchbook. Sure, there's always room for more, but the ways in which Eastern and Western sounds and aesthetics are integrated is unique and mindblowing. Trey's use of beats is one of the few cases were I can tolerate them and the furthest away from "cheesiness" I can think of. He has achieved to create in the studio a sound that incorporates Bollywood and Middle Eastern pop recording techniques. These are aesthetic choices and not due to financial limitations. Can't wait for the new shit to come out.>>

Sure enough. Imho, the SC3 have a really epic
potential that hasn't been totally exploited so far,
probably due to financial cappabilites and certainly
not for a lack of ideas. The only thing is that so
far, all their albums sound to me like a promising
sketch of what's to come.
I personally hope that this new trilogy does not
follow the path of "Book M", but this is obviously a
personal appreciation. It may be a more elaborate,
studio-madness recording, but in the end the
electronic brushtrokes sound really cheesy to me.
Best,
Efrén del Valle
