Yo! Has anybody seen the film "Gambling, Gods and LSD" for which Fred Frith did the music? It's showing pretty soon and I'm wondering if I should check it out. cremaster: I haven't seen all the films, but what I can say abou the book is that it is a thick, well packaged object with an enormous amount of still photographs from the films. Well worth the look. Janusz Barduch: Man is Wolf to Man I second the praise for this book. Saw Barduch speak at the University of Iowa while an undergraduate (he was, while still alive, a world renowned plastic surgeon). He was appeared to me a very gracious man. Apparently there is a sequel to Man is Wolf to Man out there(detaling his post exile life, which is supposedly equally extraordinary), if anyone has read that, let me know what you think.

Anybody on the list seen the full Cremaster Cycle or the book that accompanies it? It looked great on British TV last night. Is it worth travelling to see or buying the book. Does it have any music content? Richard Gardner

Does it have any music content? I saw the whole cycle over two days a few months ago here in DC, and I thought it was amazing. Sure, it's pretentious, intentionally esoteric, convoluted, and all that, but you know that going into it. It's still moving, very interesting, and delightful. I believe all of the music is by Jonathan Bepler, and most of it is exceptional. Dave Lombardo and the singer of Morbid Angel turn up in part 2, playing and screaming along to swarming, buzzing bees, and Murphy's Law and Agnostic Front show up in the final part of 3, which is available on DVD as "the order." andrew

hey people, just listening to all my Painkiller material, something struck me. How did Painkiller form? does anyone know? Did Zorn approach Mick at a Napalm show or something? Did Mick know Bill? who knew who & how did they end up getting together? I take it it was Zorn's idea as I've heard him mention how he wanted to create some free improv music that people would slam dance to, as he felt free jazz & grindcore had the same intensity. any one know? thanks Andrew n.p: Painkiller: "Rituals - Live in Japan"
