Cheers, Jim _______________________________________________ Jim, The problem you are having is as such: If you enable v92, non v92 modems will NOT connect. If you want to run v92, you need to setup it's own trunk(s) and just configure those DSPs. So, your config can be as such: DSP 1-4 = v90 = 555-1212 DSP 5-8 = v92 = 555-1213 If a v90 (or below) tries to connect to span 5-8, no workie joe. Make sense? Why you ask? The v92 send back info (via the handshake), and the v90 does not know how to handle it, and it fails. Hope that helps! Here's how I do it, don't know if 100% correct but it works: on the Hiper ARC: set ppp ccp all On the access-accept, the Radius server sends "USR-Compression-Algorith = Auto". Result: 49.3K connection, download 1 MB of pure text, up to 1000kbps of throughput. Real world result is web pages and email transfer noticeably faster. 3.5.109 Connection Issues

We are having connection issues with some users who never finish training up since we changed the DSP Code to 3.5.109. We enabled all the v.92 settings and v.44 compression. Yesterday, I disabled PCM Upstream, but it hasn't made any difference that we can tell so far. For the users who have called about this problem, some used to get v.34 speed and some used to get v.90. For the v.34 users, we have been able to work around it by forcing their modem to use v.34. For the people who used to be able to get v.90, we were able to work around it by lowering their connect speed. Since no one is complaining much about this code on the list, I wonder if we should change some of the modem settings on our side to help with this. Does someone have any real world suggestions or hints about what settings should be enabled or disabled on our modems to maximize their ability to train up with our users? Cheers, Jim

Upgrading firmware.

OK, so I've replaced the ARC in my USR-TC chassis. Make a difference? Of course not. ... some of my users, can get online, a monitor ppp shows me incoming and outgoing data, but a simple ping of their IP returns "TIMED OUT" The users that it's happening to *IS* consistent.. it's the same few people every time.. regardless of which card/line/modem they come in on. If they dial my other USR chassis in another location, (with the exact same config on it may I add), no problems at all. Is it possible to pull the system firmware FROM the flash so that I can make my two systems identical? If not, does anyone have version 4.1.59 available? (Old, I know, but it bloody well WORKS). ignoring filter

Hi All: My radius serers sends multiple Filter-Id attribute with different filters, but my total control has only one of the filters. So when Radius sends such multiple Filter-Id s the user after authentication is disconnected.
