ISDN CPE Question

Got the following email earlier and didn't have an answer. Anyone here have a good suggestion? Quick question, Do you know of a good working customer end modem to use on a ISDN line to dial into TC100 (HiPerARC, HiPerDSP,HiPerNMC) gear? I hear that Verizon is going to offer a test ISDN flat rate service to selected 'rural' comunities in my service area (Northern NH) to satisfy political presure to provide 'Broadband' services where no other affordable High Speed conectivity is available. I'd like to be able to offer aN install package with CPE to take advantage of this "_new_" ;-) product in the three towns they (Verizon) are going to run this test case in.

I;ve had this happen a few times. Just reboot the NMC card by sliding it out if the chassis or via the console interface and it will be well again (until next time). Hi Scot, We see this a lot on Hiper DSP cards when they fail. Try the Z-Modem procedure through the console port to reload code to it and see if that works. Most of the cards we see like this have to be sent back to 3Com for repair. Cisco 700 ISDN modem/router

Does anyone know how to get one of these to talk to a USR Total control HUB? Here is what we get: Cisco dials in and gets IP number. We can ping the Cisco IP from all of our local workstations. We can traceroute to the IP. Log into the TC hub and try to ping the address and NOTHING?? The address and user show up in the hub doing s li co or li ip route. We can NOT ping any address from the Cisco 700, but any client behind the modem can ping any address out on the web... We are lost on this one since the standard config will dialup and work PROPERLY with another provider (do not know what type of NAS they are running) If anyone can provide a solution to this dilema, I would appreciate it. We have worked on configuring this for an entire day without any luck. Thanks in advance! LCP errors/PPP timouts

I am having a huge problem with error 718 messages (PPP Timemouts according to Microsofts RAS error). How can I narrow this down? I think its a specific card (it only happens when we start to fill up > 60%. What on the ARC can cause a PPP timout? The chassis has 14 DSPs and 2 ARCs. I looked at just about every performace item in the Perf monitor but it all looks OK from what I can see. Any ideas? Make your V92 settings in Template 1. make sure Template 1 is assigned to all modems on a given card. Brent, You have to upgrade to TCS 4.5 or 4.7 to do V.92. Two things: 1) You need BOTH of your ARC's at 128 meg dram / 16 megs of flash. 2) Be aware: a) TCS4.3 or lower: TCM and HARM work, but CEM does not b) TCS4.5: TCM and CEM work, HARM does not c) TCS4.7: CEM only (CEM must be purchased So, first replace the ARC with 64 megs of RAm and 8 meg of flash. Then plan on what management platform you intend to use. Then perform the SW upgrades (SW requirea a contract to access). And whatever you do, don't "downgrade" DSPs once upgraded past TCS4.3. If not done properly, you will make doorstops out of the DSP's. Lastly, do yourself a favor, and buy a dial-in number for one of your spans other than your main dial-in to the hunt. THAT is the card you should enable V.92 on. That way if a customer has problems, just dial the other V.90 number. Good Luck. Management Bus Failures

Nearly every day I get management bus failures on chassis with several HiperDSP. After this failure sometimes Watchdog timeout happens and card is rebooted. What can cause this Management Bus Failures on HiperDSP cards and is it possible to stop this failures?

I know its probably been asked 1000 times here. But I cant seem to find any of the posts on the lists. We are converting Channelized T1's to PRI's. We are using Hiper DSP cards. We do have an existing T that is a PRI. however when just changing the robbedbit to messageorientated The card will not keep calls. A single light on the card lights up and the call drops. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
