I second the recommendation about OCH videos. When the conditions outside are not conducive to sailing you can always go to Off Center Harbor. Their videos on tool prep are also great as well as the extensive video section about other boaters and where they are doing what. Lots of vicarious fun to be had there also. Fair winds, Tom B. Ask 'Customer Service' at Harken what the difference actually is between the two - may be (as some parts are) the difference between delrin balls or 'torlon' balls in the bearings, they are sometimes interchangeable. Montgomery 15 Reupholstery

After a month living out of the boat on the road and a lot of sailing use this summer, it's time to recover the cabin and cockpit cushions in our 1986 Montgomery 15. I am not sure the upholstery shops in Bishop are adequately experienced and able selecting coverings and doing boat reupholstery, so am hoping to find a good place somewhere in California or Nevada that regularly does this sort of this where I could take the cushions. Would anyone in the group suggest a place to do it? It would be great to hear any experiences you have with going or having this sort of work done as well. Thanks! David, I have a CDI furler on my M17 and don't use a toggle on the forestay. I asked a rigging guy at West Marine and he said it wasn't needed. I just have a clevis pin that goes through the swaged eye on the forestay and the holes in the mast head fitting on either side of the stay. This allows the forestay and furler to move in the fore and aft direction when raising the mast. I'm careful to keep the furler as straight as possible when raising the mast. When the mast is up, everything is tight and there's almost no movement. Maybe someone else can explain why a toggle is important -- I don't see the need for it. Floppy rig

Advice please. I put CDI furling on my M17. Per instructions I added a toggle to the top of the head stay. Now with both head stay and back stay tightened down as far as they go the rig is a bit floppy. Problem? Any way to make it a tighter? Thanks. David
