Anchor storage on the M17 bow?

If you keep your anchor at the bow... 1. Have you installed an anchor roller, or use a PVC pipe fastened to the pulpit to hold the anchor shank? 2. Do you have a hawse pipe to feed rode below to a container on the V berth, or to a "chain locker" below the V berth? Can anyone direct me to pics showing some solutions they may have come up with or just describe in a message what you have done. Right now we keep a bruce with 20' chain and then rope in a flexible tote in the port cockpit locker. Usually drop it from the cockpit and then walk it forward. When cruising we keep the anchor on a rubber mat at the aft end of the cockpit with the chain and have the rode running forward inside the toe rail, through a bow chock and back. Allows us to drop over the side from the cockpit and adjust scope from the cockpit. Keeping the chain from scrubbing the gel coat on the coaming top is a challenge. We lay more interlocking rubber mats over to protect. Can be a bit fussy if you have to get the anchor down in a hurry. Thanks much Bill Wickett Makin' Time M17 #622

Trailer disposition

Well the folks at Pacific Trailer said it was a bent axel but the inspector at the trailer shop said they saw no evidence of that. But the tire wear certainly would lend it to this conclusion. Switching to radial tires since the wear was not going to pass inspection and lastly the inspector thought it was a better idea to add a second pin to the trailer extension and I agreed with him. Looking good but man Radial tires don't come cheap. Smiley and Karen magoo252(a)comcast.net

New Member, M12 help please?

Hello everybody, new here but not new to Montgomery Boats. For seven years I had a Montgomery M12, it was the best boat I've ever owned or sailed for that matter. It handled very rough crossings of Tampa Bay in Florida with ease, in fact once a very large Hatteras blasted close by and filled the boat with salt water. No problem, I just sailed her to the nearest beach,(2 miles) and bailed her out and continued on my way.Sadly I traded her for a BMW that had caught my eye. I missed her immediately and have been looking for another M12 for some time without success. Leads anybody, have one to sell or know of one for sale? Wonder what happened to the molds for the M12, Jerry, Bob? Thanks! Ed S. annamariaslim(a)yahoo.com

Ed S. Are you located on that pretty little island named Anna Maria? The perfect combination of relaxed and beautiful. My in-laws have a place one inlet South. trailer tire worn on the inside

OK, done some research and don't know if it's a camber thing or a bent axel. The right trailer tire is worn on the inside the left looks brand new. Can you camber the tires in or out on a Pacific Trailer? What I read on the net is a bent axel. I need to address this before taking it to inspection. I plan to take the boat on trailer to a shop and have this looked into as it's no fun wearing out tires. Opinions, I will probably have an answer tomorrow anyway. M15 and M17 on highway 101 yesterday

So, I'm driving out to Lake Sonoma yesterday, and I get really close to my turn on Canyon near Geyserville, and right in front of me is another M15 being towed north! I couldn't see the name of the boat, and I thought they might turn also onto Canyon to go sailing. But they continued north. Ken Wheeler told me he saw that boat, and an M17 also going north. Who was this? Anybody on the list? You just don't see too many of these around here! Daniel

Montypals: Had a very nice sail in "Kestrel" today at Lake Sonoma. When I posted the first videos of my maiden voyage, some folks wanted more video of the boat. So I posted some more. Montgomery 7' 11"

I have what I am fairly certain is a 1984 Montgomery 7'11 that I am selling here in San Diego. It is in pristine condition, just a beauty. The serial number is: MMP 715120384 (any help in deciphering the serial number is appreciated.) I have a bunch of photos in the link below which is in the local Craigslist Ad... This 1984 Montgomery "7-11" is a full pedigree classic lapstrake beauty. Absolutely pristine condition with 5 coats of varnish, freshly painted mast, all fittings in order, oars and oarlocks and dropdown keel and rudder. Newer sail. It is a bit hard to see due to the shadows in the photos, but the hull is a beautiful Emerald Green.
