Hi Bill, The story I have heard about the original M-23 deck and coachroof was it was designed for maximum interior cabin headroom. That it does. My M-23 has 5'7" of interior height. However, the trade off was narrow side decks for walking, high windage, and blocked forward view from the cockpit. I also heard Jerry was somewhat unhappy with the top deck and the original mold has been destroyed. These factors have not affected me. I do not have stantions on the side decks which allow for more footroom. The interior of the M23 is fabulous for a boat of that size. No complaints from this owner. Bones

Anyone in SLC up for a sail?

I recently acquired a 12' Montgomery, #21. She has no name yet that I can figure out from her paint or history. Does anyone know the "rules" for naming an unnamed boat? e.g. someone peeing off back, etc. The bottom of the mast has some damage, the previous owner suggested hack sawing off the damaged part. I though welding some more aluminum to the mast might be better. Anyone have any suggestions? I attached a photo for fun, if this is bad would someone let me know. -- Chow, Jonathan W. M-23 History

Hi All, this should be addressed to Bob Eeg, but in case someone can answer... Anyone know why the M-Factory changed the deck layout on the M-23? I've never been aboard either the old or new style, so I dont know, and wonder, what has changed on the interior to facilitate the new layout. Are the original molds for the old deck M-23 still available? I had originally thought it was to make the mast easier to raise & lower. However, Fred with the new style M-23 "Sea Cutter" says he had to make an "A-Frame" affair to make his manageable. Bill

Hi All, In a couple of weeks the MSOG Photo Site has been open for a full year. The mission of the site has been to bring to anyone interested, some of the best and highest quality pictures of M-Boats ever assembled. In this past year, the site has had just under 7000 visitors and has been looked at over 40,000 times. We now have a total of over 550 high resolutions photos on the site, with more to come. CAUTION: self-promotion follows. I've sold about 700 of my Eastport Prams, a 7'9" x 62-pound sailing dinghy. It sails unusually well, I think, and rows better than most.
