Greetings NW sailors, It's been a while since I've seen any mention of an Inland NW rendezvous. If there is still interest out there, let's do it! The Potters will be at Pend Oreille Lake in July and I understand we are invited to join them. That would be fine, although I prefer to avoid crowds. I have no idea how big a group they'll have. By the way, I just did the overnight trip they are planning from Farragut State Park to Whiskey Rock and back this week. Nice trip, although those 30 mph gusts we had sure kicked up the waves. If you want to see a live web cam and full weather conditions of the lake near Whiskey Rock (including water temp. clear down to 400 ft., for pete's sake!) check out www.lpo.dt.navy.mil. On another matter, is there still anyone on this list who sails Coeur d' Alene Lake? I'm planning on spending a week exploring that lake starting on about the 22nd of this month and would appreciate input on launch areas where I can leave my car, prime anchorages, highlights not to be missed, etc. Please reply off-list to leyake(a)juno.com. Mine measures 76" from the top of the tongue and 21 1/4" from the bow to the top edge of the bow pulpit on my '76 model. Larry Y. I know that there were at least two different sized pulpits supplied on the M15's, and the same may be true of the M17's (it would be a shame to have something fabricated only to find out that it was shorter or taller than needed). Fiddle Blocks: I recently bought some fiddle blocks for a vang from: http://www.sailorman.com/barton.htm He (they?) had been selling some items on e-Bay. Nice price and quick delivery. They may be overkill but they have snap shackles for quick on and off. If I were to change my main sheet I would lean toward the method used on this WWP: http://trailersailor.com/forums/potterarchives/index.cgi?read=6874 The first entries in that thread show a fiddle block on the bridle. I like the Harken 291 stainless block better than the Ronstan plastic block, although the Harken is a little more expensive. However, I think I would still want to be able to run the sheet forward and down to a removable block and cleat in the traditional location. Steve R. M-15 #119 Lexington, KY

Keep in mind that the 15 balances better when the driver is situated as far forward in the cockpit as possible. Re-arranging the main sail sheeting will probably force the sailor to reside farther aft. Ken, Mine is sheeted off the end of the boom. I have a small bimini that the former owner installed. It works well and is out of the way. It's much like the set up on a Compac 16. btw: We're having a small group sail at Galveston this weekend. Sat/ Sun/ maybe into Mon. You guys are invited to join us.
