North Idaho Sailing

Just wanted to post a note to let any interested M boaters know that I'll be spending next week sailing Priest Lake in north Idaho. This has to be, in my humble opinion, maybe the prettiest lake in the northwest. I'd suggest being reasonably sure that the repair kit will fix the problem in case you end up replacing the whole head anyway. Yeah, that's probably my point Rich. I find my M15 very exciting to sail--handled like a dingy, it performs like one. My lovely wife Jane prefers a more sedate outing, and she's the boss when we're out together. But when I'm alone, all hell breaks loose. My warning to the original poster of this thread is, if you want to sail actively, you have to play the main. My increasing family size is leading me to consider selling my 2001 M-17 Alina and moving up to a 27 footer. Alina is in better than new condition (about the only way to tell her from new is the extra equipment). She has been well equipped and pampered since I took delivery of her last June. Fortress Anchor with chain and rode Pacific Trailer w/ trailer guides and spare tire Alina is ivory with blue trim, and draws attention where ever she goes. A few items I'd like info on: 1,does anyone have a dodger on thier 23? If so, please email me info and photos off-list. 2, it appears that my boat was rigged for a baby staysail at some point. Anyone else? Info would be cool. Planning a voyage to the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior, I'm real excited to see what she can do. Head question: I have the Wilcox-Crittendon head with a holding tank. The tank is there for good unless I melt it down or cut it into bits. It was obviously installed before the insert was attached. Anyway, the pump needs attention. Has anyone purchased and used the repair kit that W-C sells? Help with this would be great so it doesn't get pissy (bad joke) Sail On! Theo M23 Sails Increase #26
