If anything, it's more like their first record or that boring Mogwai/Explosions in the Sky stuff. andrew

While the dramatization of his sepeku is presented in a washed-out-color documentary style, it's paralleled by his biography in black and white, and three of his stories in highly stylized saturated colors. Phil Glass did the music, so you can draw your own conclusions there. I was a grunt in post production sound, but managed to provide a muzak cue in a brief department store scene. It was enlightening to observe Kurt Munkacsi fixing a cue with a primitive sampler back in '85.

Marc Ribot 'Spiritual Unity' in Italy

Kind of a weird question or two for you... I have just found that Marc Ribot is doing this thing in Italy in August, coincidentally within the week or so that I am planning to be in Italy! The one drawback is the show seems to be on the island of Sardinia... so, a question for the Italians: if I am 'sightseeing' in Rome, is it a major detour to get to Sardinia? Or is it a simple matter of getting on a boat for a few hours? Just want to know whether this excursion is feasible... Oh, and anyone who has seen Spiritual Unity, how is it? I'd be happy just to see the guy in the flesh just playing his guitar at all, but it would be nice to know what to expect... is it a very intellectual thing, or good fun, or a bit of both? Hi Efren, It's more like "Standards" than, TNT/Millions, but I would not consider it as a disappointment. There are some great tunes and big grooves... I saw them live two weeks ago and I can say that after hearing the live versions of the songs, I like the album better now...
