My ratings; Solid Pleasure - 8 Claro Que Si - 8 (inventiveness beyond belief!) You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess - 9 (polished and clever, setting the tone for future successes) Stella - 10 (Almost perfect) The New Mix In One Go - 7 (Probably should be considered the definitive 'Best Of') One Second - 8 (Billy MacKenzie RIP) Flag - 7 (Slightly more patchy but still a great LP) Baby - 7# (They'd found a niches by then and nothing new on here...but 'Sweet Thunder' is begging to be used as a Film opening titles sequence) Essential - ? (Never bought it) Zebra - 6 (Tried to be different but I don't play it often) Hands On Yello - 4 (Disapponting remixes on the whole, with a few exceptions) Pocket Universe - 7 (Some great stuff - 'On Track' and 'To The Sea') Excentrix Remixes - 6 (Not brilliant but some interesting bits & pieces on a disjointed collection) Motion Picture - 7 (I really must listen to it again!) > Hello everyone! By the way I heard from this guy who runs the Yello Reference Site, that Resistor was the only Yello song performed at MayDay. BUT, at another place where you could download some various mp3s, I saw The Race (MayDay Mix)... Unfortuneatly, the file wasn't there :-C Christopher

Hello everyone! Oh Yeah is undoubtfully Yello's most popular song (together with The Race). But which song is their best? Any of you have any suggestions? The song that I have heard most times would be Tied Up, Who's Gone and the live version of Resistor, but I find it very hard to tell which of their songs that is best. Thanks again for the ratings! (Yello) soundtrack question

Hi folks, Recently I read an article in one of the Russian magazines about American film "Not Another Teen Movie" (2001). The soundtrack to this film was mentioned there. Yello was listed among others. Does anyone know about it? I suspect it was usual mistake (in fact, there are dozens of mistakes in Russian movie/music press). But still want to make sure. I've checked out imdb.com for this movie but couldn't find full soundtrack listing. Can anyone prove/disprove this info and, if it's true, tell more about it?! Thx! Adelka Holmes. Top 10 Yello Songs and Albums Poll

Hi folks, With all of the people posting their favorite songs (and their ratings), perhaps it's waaaaay overdue for a top 10 poll. I did one for the Yello list back around 1995 (not sure where it is now though), and I'd be willing to do it again. OK, this time, I think we should do two polls: one for top 10 best Yello albums, and the other for top 10 best Yello songs. Before we start sending off emails like crazy, here are the rules... They are not set in stone, BTW, only my suggestions based on my previous experience with this. If you see something you don't like, let the list know and we'll discuss all it. Rules: 1. Limit the number of your favorite Yello albums to 10. 2. Limit the number of your favorite Yello songs to 10. 3. If you're going to email me both lists in one email, please make sure they are clearly separated. 4. Limit both the albums and the songs to the commercial releases. 5. No bootleg albums/songs or really rare albums/songs will be allowed. 6. Songs and albums have to be by the band Yello (not solo projects by Dieter, Boris or Carlos) 7. Songs and albums are NOT allowed to be remixes (whether by Yello or by some other group/DJ). They must be the original tunes. 8. No ties or splits are allowed. Last time I did this, I had people saying that they thought that Song A was just as good as Song B, so they should share the same position. Please, don't do this! If you do, I will have to email you and ask you to pick which one you want, and discard the other. 9. Since I don't plan on doing heavy statistical analysis on the results, you do not have to prioritize them. You can if you want to, but it won't affect the outcome of the results. 10. This list of rules is work in progress. That means if something weird happens during the polling that I haven't thought of, I will have to make an "on the spot" decision on whether that weird thing is legit or not. After all the polls have finished, I would like to have this published online somewhere. I will be contacting a few listmembers about this later... So what do you guys think of this? I will wait to hear from some of you before I start the poll. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME YOUR TOP 10s UNTIL I SEND AN EMAIL TO THE LIST STATING THAT I AM READY TO ACCEPT YOUR VOTES!!
