For all the Yellofans . We have to wait a while before there will be a new Yello album. In the meanwhile we got to feed us with alternatives. (for me that is Boards of Canada,Coldplay,Biosphere,Kraftwerk,Faithless,Bugge Wesseltoft,Groove Armada,Vangelis,Air,DepecheMode,Massive Attack,..enz ) But what really surprises me is the new album of Royksopp : The Understanding. This one is so beautifull 80's dance ambient chill. Their first album was good. But this album is damn good! I'm sure all you Yellogoru's gonne love this music. Franz, Having DSL could be a factor. I think for files under 100MB YouSendIt is going to be a great addition and it will give everyone the ability to post something to the list. I see no FAQ on the site and nothing said about any limits except that the file will remain available for 7 days. I have Gregs version of the Dieter / Ferry show in 2 parts in much higher quality then I posted before. If you can't get it to work I can give those a try. Jabberwoc, If you can set up an FTP site for us that would be great! ,Jonathan -------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Jabberwoc, breaking it into 15MB pieces would allow distribution through email as well. I will try again with yousendit in some days. Yousendit does not offer FTP. In addition, they say in the FAQ, that download is limited in some way. I assume, that you can download the file a few times, then it will refuse to do it. Summary: Yousendit is not a good tool for the yello list. Regards Franz

Hi, I have tried again uploading to http://www.yousendit.com/ the first of 4 250MB chunks. Got terminated after an hour. I will try again, but I am not very optimistic. How do these guys make their profit? Ther eis no registration required, no advertizing. Regards Franz

Hi, I am giving up now. I cannot upload big files to http://www.yousendit.com/ . Either my internet connection is not stable enough (ADSL 2mbit) or yousendit has a problem or both. I have tried several times to upload 250MB chuncks of the "Durch die Nacht" video without success. I think, http upload is not a very sophisticated and efficient way. They also offer https upload, which I do not think is better. I will try again next week, when I am back. Regards Franz

Well, Russ, I have split the video in four parts. If the upload and download really works, you just click and watch each of the four after oneanother. Use any DVD authoring program to load the 4 files onto one DVD or SVCD, or save it to one single mpg file. Just one note on this video: the last about 5 minutes are missing.Total runtime is about 50 minutes. 1 gb upload failed

Hi, I just tried an upload of 1 GB onto http://www.yousendit.com/ . the bad thing is, that the transfer happens with a browser window and there is no progress bar. The transfer broke down after 2 hours and there is no way to restart. So I have decided to split the video into 250MB chunks. I will let you know, once it's finished. The question, whether "Durch die Nacht" is worth to watch is difficult to answer. For me it was a nice view into Dieter's personality. Bryan Ferry himself I found rather boaring, and it looked as if he was boared the whole time. Nevertheless, I do like his music. Franz
