Greetings members, Thanks to the National Issues Committee for organizing our October meeting. The minutes from the meeting are attached for your review. The bulletin covering both fall meetings is also attached. Hopefully you will be able to join us for the December 7th Holiday Luncheon at Little America. The invitation with information is attached. Please note the options. Vegetarian: Whole Wheat Soba Noodles Asian Style Paired with Oriental Vegetables, Miso Broth, Shiitake Mushrooms and Tofu. Gluten Free: Sterling New York Strip Steak Paired with Herb Butter, Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. All Options are accompanied by Chef's Choice of Salad and Dessert. Greetings members, We are glad many of you could join us last Wednesday as we heard from candidates for state office. We thank Kari Malkovich and Seraya Almirthalingam for their direction of this informative meeting. The minutes from the meeting are attached for your review. Our celebrations committee, Shannon Jacobs and Susan Vaughn, has prepared the attached invitation for the December 7th Holiday Luncheon. Please note these options: Vegetarian- Whole Wheat Soba Noodles Asian Style Paired with Oriental Vegetables, Miso Broth, Shitake Mushrooms and Tofu. Reservations and payment are due by Tuesday, November 22nd. Unfortunately, due to work conflicts, our treasurer, Renee Lowrey, is resigning from office. We thank her for her service to this organization. WSLC is in need of a new treasurer. If you or someone you know would be willing to serve as treasurer, please reply to this email or contact President Shauna Scott-Bellaccomo at sscottbe(a)hotmail.com. Until a new treasurer is appointed, First Vice President Donna Murphy will be acting as treasurer and President-Elect Suzanne Mulet will be maintaining the membership list. Greeting members, I hope you have enjoyed a safe and adventurous summer. Please mark your calendar for the upcoming Wednesday, September 21st General Meeting beginning at noon in the Copper room at the State Capitol. This meeting will allow our membership to hear from the individuals running for state office. Not all of the individuals running for office will be able to attend. State Issues Co-Chairs Kari Malkovich and Seraya Amirthalingam will provide an agenda as soon as possible, which I will distribute to you. Kitty Kaplan funeral

Dear members, We are saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend and Past President, Kitty Kaplan. We will honor Kitty at our September general meeting and plan to make a donation to the Shalom project, which is mentioned in the following post from Kitty's family. Dear Friends and Family, It is with deepest regret that we inform you of Kitty's peaceful passing on July 9, 2016 following a severe brain aneurysm. We are all incredibly heartbroken and shocked as she lived such a vibrant and healthy life. Her selfless love knew no bounds and will live on in the hearts of all she met. Please take a minute to squeeze your loved ones a little tighter as this has been a painful reminder of just how fragile life can be. Please join the family Tuesday 6-8pm for a visitation honoring Kitty's life at Evans and Early Mortuary (574 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84102). Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 13th at 1pm, Evans and Early Mortuary, followed by burial at B'nai Isreal Cemetery (4th Avenue between R St. and Q St.). In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Salt Lake City Jewish Community Center (www.slcjcc.org) or Shalom Salaam Tikkun-Olam Project (www.ncjwutah.org) One of the greatest benefits of being part of WSLC is coming to know and learn from women like Kitty.
