Greetings members The bulletin covering our March 8th meeting is attached for your review. Senator Jim Dabakis shared his strong support of SJR10 Joint Resolution: Ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution and Gayle Ruzicka shared her long held concerns regarding this proposed amendment. We also were honored to have Rep. Mike Noel discuss HB408 State Property and School and Institutional Trust Lands Amendments. WSLC Natural Resources Director shared The Utah league of City and Towns concerns against this bill in its current form. Members present at the March 8 meeting voted in favor of a resolution opposing HB408. We hope you will be able to join us on Wednesday, March 15th, for our business meeting where we will also hear from the State Republican and Democratic Chairs. Good evening members, At the request of Judicial Committee co-chair Kathryn Gustafson and with the approval of our president, I have sent an email to our legislators reminding them of our opposition to HB198, Concealed Carry Amendments. Kathryn informs us that the bill has been called back to the Senate floor this afternoon for discussion. According to our bylaws, once our organization has adopted a resolution, members may lobby in the name of the Council. The Resolution is attached here once more. WSLC Resolutions - Opposing HB198, Supporting HB200

Greetings Fellow WSLC Members, You will remember during our meeting today we approved two resolutions that have now been forwarded to the members of the Utah State Legislature. Even though these resolutions have been forwarded to the legislators, you are welcome (and encouraged) to reach out on your own to each of your respective members. Resolution in Opposition of HB 198: Concealed Carry Amendments Support of HB 200: Sexual Assault Kit Processing Amendments Thank you to the committee for writing the resolutions and for all of the members for participating in the discussion.
