I have one TC chassis that is receiving Management Bus Failures - almost daily. The particular dsp in slot 1 also reboots after it sees a Watch dog Timeout. This chassis has 6 dsps w 2.0.60, hiper nmc w/6.2.17 and arc w/4.1.59-6. I also had this same problem with dsp code 2.0.81 in that same chassis -- so going to 2.0.60 did not help. I have DS-3 into this facility on fiber - so the spans from Ameritech should not be a problem. Running all ISDN-PRI's. Anybody else see anything like this...??? We are seeing the same thing and have all the sudden been flooded with subscribers complaining about frequent disconnects and having to dial many times to connect successfully. Install the NIC first, or the NAC will possibly fail to see the interfaces. My CLI on the HiperArc is dead and this is the last message I get after rebooting it is - Facility "Configurator", Level "CRITICAL":: exec_list_add_sorted failed: (ES_DUPL_ENTRY) . I'm buying a tape drive and I'll be damned if I can find the site I usually go to. Has umpteen vendors listed by price, availability, etc. Works great. NOT any one vendor here's our price, but many many. If I could only find it. Anyone know what I"m talking about and have it bookmarked? Tried umpteen searches and didn't find it this time. I'm sure they're not paying the search engine people enough dough to come up within 1000 hits..... (usr-tc) Dropped connections for 2nd login with same login ID. MPPP weird thing?

Hi- Okay, I am really stumped. As I'm sure most of you do, we have customers that have one login in use by more than one connection at a time, and not Multilink PPP, but separate connections. In all our locations but one, we haven't heard of any problems. In our one location, the first one logs on fine (Pstandish), then anyone after that on the SAME unit logging in as Pstandish, will authenticate just fine, then be dropped with: Nov 19 11:16:10 lkm-ha1 At 17:16:09, Facility "Auth Facility", Level "COMMON":: Port slot:14/mod:3 successful RADIUS authentication for user: Pstandish Nov 19 11:16:13 lkm-ha1 At 17:16:12, Facility "Auth Facility", Level "COMMON":: The connection for call id 218234989, on if slot:14/mod:3 was dropped for user UNKNOWN It's like it's sitting there trying to negotiate something it can't and hangs up. There's nothing weird in HiperARC's that has some knowledge of a given login ID (Pstandish), and as it sees the next one trying to login, hey, they must want MPPP, why don't I start the LCP negotiation for that? I don't know this to be fact, It's just conjecture at this point. It definately authenticates, but doesn't assign an IP and drive on, it drops the connection for UNKNOWN (which is tre' odd...it isn't unknown...) If they dial into another on of our POP's (IE, any TC unit other than this one) with same Pstandish, no problem. Next line isn't the "dropped for user unknown", it's the usual...assigned IP x.x.x.x and they're fine. Have not tested for sure having them test the whole ball of wax at another POP, so can't say 100% it's just that site other than we do have lots of other users using the same way and don't seem to have that problem. Nope, no TSMON or anything forcing them off, it is only in the HiperARC and this particular unit that it seems to be a problem. Yep, HiperARC is: System Version: V4.2.32 Everything DSP, Quad, NMC, everything current as well. Man, anyone seen anything like this? (usr-tc) HARM and TCM software

I just recently got a HiperARC and NMC in an otherwise empty chassis on loan from another ISP in town. (Currently running Total Control with Netserver cards.) I'm planning on stuffing 6 quad modems and a 186 T1 card in there to evaluate the HiperARC platform for future purchases. I'm also trying to find a HiperDSP to evaluate elso. (Also evaluating Cisco 5396) The problem I'm having with this chassis is the lack of software to run it. Could anyone give me a copy of the latest HARM and TCM for Windows? (I don't think my TCM will recognize the HiperARC.) I also need the latest code for the 186 T1 card. I was able to download HiperARC 4.2.32-1 from Totalservice. I am fairly new to the Total Control Boxes, and was wondering if anyone out there would like to share some basic information about the things that are most useful to you as an ISP using the TC's. I'm referring to undocumented code, tricks, tips, etc. I have a new box with 4 HSP cards, 1 hiperarc, and have gotten it to work with Cistron Radius, OSPF, and have the USRWho program running. I would like to find out more about how to troubleshoot connections using the signal to noise ratios, how to determine connect speed without having to to to the command line or SNMP software ( I mean from the web page, especially), Managing IP Pools, and anything that would be valuable to an ISP. I have been using PM3's for the last 3 years, and am fairly comfortable with them, but am now moving over to the TC's, and things are different. Some better and some not so good. Just want to get up to speed on the possibities. Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to share their insight to me.
