Bottom Paint on Corndog

Larry, I was wondering what that white paint was. It looks good against your yellow hull as well. My M17 had the tiny pox blisters along the waterline when I bought her. I went with the Interprotect 2000 epoxy barrier coat followed by Micron CSC as the boat was being slipped. She is dry sailed now, and I think your paint would be a better choice for that dutycycle. I'd like to visit the great San Juans again.......... Pack light, then sail with a bunch of cruisers loaded to the gills for two weeks in the San Juans. >>Are you using bottom paint? Yes, but only because when I stripped off the old anti-fouling paint that came on the boat the hull was stained and a mess. I painted it with white VC Performance Epoxy. It's a hard two part epoxy that is tough as nails. Great for a trailered boat. No anti-fouling properties, but it cleans off easily even after a couple weeks in salt water. Also, it's fast! It has a teflon component that makes it nice and slick, and it can be burnished to a shine if you're so inclined. I haven't done that. Larry Y

Don't believe him Bones....he can even make ol' Dauntless get up and go...and I never unloaded her! And that wasn't even with my EBAY sails! Now I got new Elliot Pattison sails in the works!!! Larry should have a Pilot's lisence!

Hi Listers, I, too need to clean up my swing keel on my 1976 M17 this summer. If memory serves, I think the older boards weigh in at 160 lbs. mainsheet traveler setup

Thanks to all of you with comments about car and track setups. As always you came up with several good approaches to the same end, and I will have to decide which is best. Since my track placement does not seem too bad, I might consider buying a slightly longer section of track than necessary, and cutting it so the new holes fall between the old ones, which can be plugged with epoxy. I don't recall seeing you struggling to keep up on last years cruise, Dave. I think you and Sweet Pea could give anybody a run for their money! Correct on the bolts. The hinge bolt is recessed, but the stop bolt sticks out. The main reason I went this way is that I like to replace the rope pennant every couple years, and it is a much quicker job this way.
