Hi All, I Emailed the top three bidders and welcomed them to join us on the forum. The winning bidder, made only one bid. There were however, two others that duked it out for some time. One was 2old2bob and the other was Normanlane. Hopefully they join in so as to get their own Monty. Bill M-17 Tipperary SF CA May have some new M-12 pics here real soon.

It cost me $150 to have my M-15 surveyed. The surveyor said if it was in his parking lot he would do it for $50. It took me about two minutes with an internet search engine to locate a surveyor, and maybe a two minute phone call to schedule the survey. I saved $500 to $600 in air fare, motel, meal and rental car expenses. I suspect that this time of year surveyors are happy to have work. By the way, I got a heck of a sailboat. steve Steve R. I bought a 5hp four stroke Nissan with a long shaft, 20 inches. The short shaft companion is 15 inches. The former replaced my 6hp two stroke (1970) Johnson long shaft, also 20 inches. Bill M-17 ( #55)

I bought a long shaft Honda and an adjustable mount. I think a short shaft and adjustable mount would work just as well. Steve R. Hi Rick My short shaft HONDA 2 HP is 20" from mount to the prop centerline. Your 22" dimension doesn't sound like a Long Shaft to me. Comments anyone? Connie

Outboard Longshaft

I have a 3hp Johnson 2 cycle on my boat. The PO said it was a long shaft and I don't doubt it, but I have a question. My outboard measures 22" from the mount to the center of the prop. If this is a long shaft, what is the length of the short shaft? I have fixed motor mount so anything less than 22" might be a problem. Do the lift up type motor mounts allow one to use a short shaft motor by positioning it lower to the water? Thanks, Rick Langer M15 #337

For what its worth, NADA value for a Monty 15 from the early 1980s ranges from a low retail of $1,350 to an average retail of $1,620.
