Hyper Hyper was (P)'d in 1994 (what does a P in a circle mean - published? patented? produced?). At the end of Hyper Hyper it does list a load of DJ's (no mention of The KLF though - maybe a remix is needed :)) Marisha, Stevey Mason, DJ Dick, Carl Cox, Kid Porn, Mike from Dyke, Mark Spoon, Major Gaelic, Miss Jacks, Garry D A lot of their music does have some KLF influence. "Back in the UK" uses a lot of KLF style. The Logical Song samples an old song - KLF, and mentions the 3AM Eternal "The K, the L, the F and the ology" (I'm Raving & Rebel Yell also use two old songs like The KLF did, Walking in Memphis - I'm Raving and Rebel Yell - Rebel Yell). Then we also have "How Much Is The Fish?" that does have a KLF feel about it for some reason although I can't quite put my finger on it (maybe Sheep - Why Sheep? Why Fish?). Of course "Fire" do I need to explain how this is linked to The KLF? and Fuck The Millennium and we also have Nessaja - "All Aboard, All Aboard, Board" - "It's not a bird, it's not a plane, it must be Dave who's on the TRAIN". This song uses Last Train To Trancentral a lot! You drew them? I did on better - I bought two identical speakers (and still have them in my window!) - only main difference is mine have Hitachi on the bottom and KLF's didn't! I think The KLF and Scooter are kind of like Eminem and The Streets - The KLF, like Eminem, were the masters. Scooter and The Streets are copies. I wonder if anyone will ever cover a KLF song in full like 3AM Eternal (it's very strange that no-one has thought of this yet considering the amount of covers there are)

Chris I have it on PAL format, taped directly off the telly by myself, but do have an NTSC/PAL video recorder, so hopefully could convert it to NTSC video for you - if I can get hold of a US format blank tape (presumably not at Woolworths!) John E-mail me off list if you're interested, and I'll see what I can do.

ps . the last place to buy music is woolworths - my local only has the top 40 albums, with another 20 by the artists in that top 40, and about 30ish by people who have been in the top 40

As far as I'm aware, Scooter's debut single was "Hyper Hyper", released in 1994, which features (as the second line) "I wanna see you sweat". The song also contains a long list of names (in true "IGUN" fashion) of people involved in dance music. However, I remember Scooter best from around 1996 - particularly "Friends" and "Endless Summer" - which I never really associated with the KLF at all. Their music always seemed more a throw-back to the "happy hardcore" days of '93, and bands like Technohead and the "Thunderdome" compilations. Their resurgence in the last two years was a bit of a puzzle to start with. When I started teaching in schools, I was really surprised to see that most of the kids (particularly the 12 year olds - true arbiters of rock'n'roll) ADORED Scooter. At the risk of sounding like a corduroy-clad trendy teacher, it seemed quite heartening that they were listening to the same type of music (if not the same records) that I had just a few years earlier. And none, incidentally, gave a toss about the KLF. But then - why should they? The same adrelain rush that caused some of us to draw the "White Room" speaker stacks on their school folders with Tipp-Ex, is now in another generation - and in different bands. And if Bill and Jimmy are daft enough to make their music extraordinarily difficult and expensive to buy (unlike many of their contemporaries, which you can still buy in Woolworths) - then why should people care? Oh, and Scooter aren't the KLF's Rutles (that would mean they are better than the original). If Scooter are anything, they are the KLF's Oasis. John Not Scots, just Scott-ish.

if ther wer no klf, scooter probably wouldn't exist one of me mates used to like scooter when he was a raver (about13 -14 years ago) where they still takin the p then?

it's pretty hard 2 tell - perhaps mr.scooter just hoped no-one would notice ?! i went to a party once and they only had the scooter album playing all night - it wasn't a pretty sight
