When I originally recorded the KLF mix I could have done things differently... As it stands, I recorded / encoded the mix and have since been hosting the freely available 60MB file on my own server space. ..all at no profit to myself. I could quite easily have dropped in a 'brandnew - jingle' randomly across the mix just to remind people where it came from. This, however I decided not to do as I felt it would spoil the overall enjoyment and flow. I did add the brandnew animation to the interview clips to stop this 'redistribution' from happening - If I had not, I assume that 'ibuyshite' would currently be selling my interview clips as another 'RARE KLF RELEASE'. ;) I also could have sold these CDs from my site (and ebay) but felt that although the mix IS the property of 'brandnew.co.uk' - the music isn't and therefore it would be rather cheeky to sell on Bill & Jimmy's music to make a profit. I decided to offer the mix as a free download. The CDRs on ebay make no mention of where they originated from and to desciribe them as 'RARE' is misleading to potential buyers, also the quantity of the CDs available for auction being '1' is nonsense as the seller is obviously able to burn off as many copies as he wants to. Incidentally, I also object to the use of one of my KLF gallery images being used on the 'RARE Bill Drummond interview' CDR. This MP3 was also downloaded from my site. I have made a complaint to ebay about the auction, and have contacted bidders to let them know where the original files came from. I have also sent an email to the seller but have not received a reply. Having CD recording capabilities myself - I assume that most people who have downloaded the mix ended up burning it to CD for personal use... that was the intention. If there are a large number of people who have been unable to burn a CD and would like an audio CD version then surely contacting myself would be the obvious next step. I really don't see the attraction of paying money for a bootleg version - burnt from a 128Kb/s MP3 file. Well, I just d/l the song and I must say there is this sample which I recognize; *at about 16 seconds there's that typical sound. Can't place it right now. That sample returns every now and then in the song. I like it, it's very ambient. Going for a copy! Rare DJ mix of "LTTT"

This time I have a query that might be difficult to answer. I have an old, OLD tape of a DJ mix, which I got in mid-1994, and which in turn sounds like it's been bootlegged to infinity. It may not even be British. The music played is 1991/1992 Prodigy/2-Unlimited rave hardcore, but not anything I recognise. However, the last track on the mix, sliding majestically out of nowhere, is either "LTTT (Remix 2)" or "Witchita Lineman was a Song I Once Heard" - the tape's quality makes it difficult to tell which one. Does anyone else have this DJ tape kicking around? I can't imagine there's many different ones with this distinctive ending. Does anyone know who the mixer is? John Not Scots, just Scott-ish PS - When I went to see the stage show of "Transpotting" in mid-1995, the music played in the theatre at the very end was "LTTT (Remix 1)". Someone at the Dundee Rep must have had the "Ultra Rare Trax" CD!

(Power Mix Edit) (10) 3 AM Eternal (Live at the Brits with ENT) (11) Last Train to Trancentral (Razormaid Mix edit) (12) Make it Rain ("Mu" CD version) (13) Justified and Ancient (Anti-Capella Mix) (14) January What Time is Love? (15) K Sera Sera (War is Over if You Want It) (16) Fuck the Millenium (Different Project Remix) (17) It's Grim Up North (Omsk Mix) I suppose it's basically a singles collection (ish), ignores almost all the JAMs stuff and their remix work, and is in rather boring chronological order. However, my favourite Drummond and Cauty period is probably from KLF4T to KLF4X, late '88 to mid '90, when projects and ideas where thrown out like fireworks, and very few ignited! IMHO, as far as driving is concerned, you can't get much better than "The White Room" soundtrack. Plus, of course, it's one of musical histories great "what if"s ... They sound EXACTLY like the "choir" that chant through "Doctorin' the Tardis" - to such an extent that I'm pretty sure it's some of the same voices. But unless someone else on the list owns the CD single, then this thread's probably a bit of a blind alley now. Still, it's interesting to think there may be another track out there with the uncreditted vocals of King Boy D and Rockman. This may also explain some of the contemporary rumours that said the Naturists were actually the the KLF (see James Parker's post). John Not Scots, just Scott-ish

"I've got a CD" by the Naturists, called "The Friendly Islands". There's a hand written orange sticker on the front, which says "MINI LP BY TONY THORPE OF THE MOODY BOYS". So there you go.
