FOTD -- December 26, 2011 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The Christmas activity here at FC yesterday left me with too little time to create a proper FOTD. But today, we're back up and running with a remarkable scene in the 4-dimensional Z^2+C Julibrot. The scene is located in the Scepter Valley area at an angle oriented halfway between the Mandelbrot and Oblate planes. (The Mandelbrot orientation is determined by the real(c) and imag(c) axes; the Oblate, by the imag(c) and real(z) axes.) At first glance, the image bears little resemblance to either a Mandelbrot scene or a Julia scene. This is because it is a hybrid scene, half Julia and half Mandelbrot. Much of the unexpected appearance was created by the outside fill of 'bof61', which is responsible for most of the smoothly colored areas. The original name I gave to the image was 'Christmas Fantasy'. I changed it to "Seasonal Fantasy" to avoid offending the secular community. The calculation time of 2 minutes is a fair price for the image. START COMMENT================================= I taught emotionaly that i was understanding the situation while parsing, and i do. Sometime i know exactly what i'am doing sometime no just working the formulae until proper resulte or dismiss. Anyway Merci beaucoups pour l'information, information about fractional integration is handy, the complete do not existe yet from here in library, and most book beginne too high. Once in a used book store i find a pamphlet typed with a normal type righter about sin+bof formulae (you know the fractint horizontal exponential blues) i get drunken and the pamphlet vanish from my library? not serious enought i guess bof... On high score i always sink a few beer in the hole...golf a 18 anyway i got the book Kepler, Galileo, copernic and aristotl mathematic to trig parametric with car_metal (four inch of paper to Interger cpu) then you gonna have to Hummmmm me for a while, if you whant to keep the math on! AHah... toutching seriously for a bumm fractionaly integrated...............(far from being done car_metal bug page 6) you to study again... i read fractint document in 2002... and send the visual dictionary of mathematic.. For those who are interesting this book is a great NORMAL not moral in math sold at ERPI from Anne Marchand 1-800-263-3678 poste 407 Cell 514-219-6299 (200$) It's just hard to stay motivated alone, with you it's going to ease a little. Pretty straight foward monkey face, good density, little work on the colour map, and i got is nose on another frame. Was waighting for since a little while. So monkey show for christmass. Since you work too on christmas i taught sending more story. I encounter last year a pretty women who was saying been originate in a flat world ?!? FOTD -- December 24, 2011 (Rating 8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's carnival-like image is a half evaporated one in the parent fractal that results when 5 parts of Z^(-1.26) are combined with 1/2 part of Z^(-12.6) and (1/C) is added on each iteration. The incredible value of almost 2*(10^21) given the imag(p3) parameter is the escape radius. This value is very critical for the half-and-half effect of the image. The parent fractal is an east-west oriented string of large bays with a filament shooting out northeastward from the easternmost bay and terminating in a ring. This filament is surrounded by a halo of disconnected rings, with today's image located in one of these rings. The rating of an 8 might be a bit on the liberal side, considering that the image is a reworking of a FOTD from a couple years ago. There is little that can be said about the name "Apparition of Nothing". But sometimes, as in today's image, nothing can be something. The calculation time of 25 seconds is a steal.
