Advice wanted on shipping CDs

My wife and I will be moving to Germany at the end of the year. OF course, we'll be taking our books and music with us. Between us we have hundreds if not thousands of CDs. They will be being shipped by ship from California to Germany. What is the best way to pack the CDs to minimize if not eliminate possible damage in transit? For example, I'm concerned that someone, loading or unloading things somewhere down the line will toss a carton of heavy books on top of a carton of CDs and shatter everything in the box. Any ideas? frisell trio live

Heya, just curious about a few things... I recently got a few tracks by the Frisell trio live off Soulseek - they are named as live in Roccella Jonica. Anyone know when this was, and who's in the trio? Also there's an effect he uses on 'Shenandoah' which he's used a lot on albums but I always assumed it was overdubbing, seems it's not. Sounds like delay + pitch shift i.e. he plays a note, it comes back half a second later but up an octave or two... any ideas on what this pedal is? Thanks, Julian.
