I just got a copy of "Brilliant Circles," the Stanley Cowell disc featuring Woody Shaw, among others. I'm really enjoying it and wonder if anyone out there can recommend any other Shaw or Cowell recordings. I have a lot of discs that feature Shaw as a sideman, but this is my only Cowell and I love his playing. Hi guys, Anyone have a copy of the Charles Tyler album called "Folk & Mystery Songs" or something like that? I think it was on Nessa. Ronnie Boykins on bass. NEW Incus CDR

I thought some might be interested in this: Peter Stubley's site at http://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/rec/ps/efi/ehome.html indicates there is a new (seventh) cdr on Incus. DB and Shaking Ray Levis Live at Lamar's in Chattanooga on 25 March 1999. I posted a review of that show on this list shortly after it happened. The Incus site hasn't been updated to include it yet. Ref: on March 10 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, John Zorn will introduce Angelus Novus and For your eyes only, performed by Stephen Drury and Britten Sinfonia. There are plenty of tickets left! Also worth a note in the diary is the now annual Barbican concert. Electic Masada on July 20th.
