RE: [Yello] start-ab tracks easy download
Yes, I've seen the same results on my computer at home. Since you're synching the entire web page to 1 level deep, you get all the files at the end of all the links - RA and MP3. About double the amount of data transfer that you actually needed. In other words, anyone who pays for internet access by the hour/etc. will have paid about twice as much to get the files than they actually needed to. It's nice that there's an automatic way to get the files, but not so nice that it grabs everything whether you wanted it or not. -----Original Message----- From: yello-bounces+rfiler=sierrawireless.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces+rfiler=sierrawireless.com@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Tasha Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2004 5:54 PM To: 'The moon: beautiful. I found if I right click on the mp3 or ra icon, I have a choice to "save target as" and that choice downloads the file to the location of my choice. Same thing as what was said, just a little different wording... -----Original Message----- From: yello-bounces+tourguide=austexecotours.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces+tourguide=austexecotours.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Rory Filer Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 6:38 PM To: The moon: beautiful. This works fine with IE 6 on Windows XP. Open http://www.start-ab.com/trax04/remixe-yello-2004.html in Internet Explorer Add this page to your favourites list Check the "Make availabable offline" box Set links radio buttom to Yes Set "Download pages 1 links deep from this page" Chose "Manual synchronize" You should get a "Synchronizing" window, indicating that all the MP3s get downloaded to your cache directory. Once this is finished (it may take a while), you can save the MP3s easily one by another from the webpage quickly. Advanced users will find a way to locate the MP3s in the cache directly. Select synchronize from the Tools menu in IE to update the cache. Regards Franz
Well, my IE6 on XP in sync mode downloads the MP3 files only. RA files are skipped because of a setting in the synchronize function (uncheck "download sound and video"). So MP3 files seem to be not recognized as sound files here. I have downloaded 301 files yesterday, wrote about 100 of them on 5 CDs and were listening to it in the car yesterday night. Some of the remixes are really awesome good, some are funny (there is one with all elements of "Modern Talking" sound), some are strange. The sound quality is quite o.k., although it is only 128k. Keep on mixing! Franz
