Re: [Yello] Me and yello go back a few years.
Hello Everyone, Yello and I go way back.. I was 20 years old, working as a DJ in a bar 1979/80 in Southern California, disco was all the rage... but there was a new progressive sound coming in (the beginning of New Wave), and I loved it. I remember slipping it in following their favorite songs, one in particular "Everybody, get on up and dance" by Bohannan I would mix into "Bostich". That's what started it all. "Heavy Whispers" is where i got hooked, I loved the deep, dark, smooth and creamy, sexy male vocals. I bought every Import as soon as it came out, I couldn't wait for the domestic versions. I had a lot of fun working in dance clubs when "I Love You", "Oh Yeah", and "Vicious Games" came out. The crowd couldn't get enough. Then I had even more fun working in Stand Up Leather Bars, where I could be more creative. I think "The Race" was about the most fun, it really got the whole place bouncing off the ceiling. I had a lot of fun with "GoldRush", "Tied Up", "Call it Love", and my other all time favorite "Lost Again". I think I played everything that was singled, and a lot of other great cuts off the albums that were not. I loved closing the bar with "The Rythm Divine", and "Of course I'm Lying" I love all types of music. I can say without a doubt that Yello is my fav orite group. Over the years Yello has brought me so much pleasure, it's almost hard to describe. It always seems like forever waiting for the next album. But It's always worth the wait. You are a great group, we all have Yello in common. I would love to be in on this FTP thing.... Sounds like I'm missing out on a lot of great stuff. I just can't figure it out.., yet. I did download WS_FTP LE Hopefully I'm more than half way there. Feel like I have to leave with a quote.. as everyone else does. "Has to be smooth baby smooth" And it always is. Take care, TruckerBill San Francisco, Ca.
TruckerBill You're right when ya say: It always seems like forever waiting for the next album. But It's always worth the wait. - But right after One Second the waiting for more material made me hungry. Very hungry. Baby took a while to surface, and ever since I've experienced this: I know an album is coming. There's an official release date. I go to a store that does get all my orders in on time. I wait. I wait even more. I start eating wallpaper and chewing my dogs toys. I stop washing myself. I neglect my social contacts. I even stop washing my car. People don't recognize me any more. I look like a hermit. And wait. Anxiously by the phone, for the store to give me that call that the goods have arrived. And then.. when finaly that new piece of work is in my grotty hands, I play it in one go. And at the end of the last track, I feel that this first almost virgin magic is about to end. And when I hear the last tunes fade from my speakers and the cd players is coming to a stop I get frantic, start to eat wallpaper again and chew my dogs toys. ... and occasianally you can hear a scream... I want more... more.. please more...give it to me... - Motion Picture = 1999 release... were in 2003 now...and even this year is nearing it's end ... 'man.. it just takes a bit too long... I have to wallpaper the entire house again and my dog has burried all his toys... somewhere... he knows... he just knows... Rene -By the perception of illusion we experience reality-
I think this is the longest time between albums. Usually it's every 2 years. On Saturday, July 12, 2003, at 04:53 PM, Rene wrote:
