I was a late-night DJ at WICN-FM and remember the day we received Yello's "Solid Pleasure" LP at the station. Since the Residents were a regular part of my weekly playlist, I paid special attention to ALL records we received from Ralph. Those included: Yello, Snakefinger, Tuxedomoon, Renaldo & The Loaf, Chrome, Nash The Slash, Rhythm & Noise and MX-80 Sound. Thanks to Ralph, a few of my favorites today are: Yello, Tuxedomoon, Nash The Slash and of course The Residents. (I'm still trying to find my Mac OS9 CD-ROM so I can play the Residents "Bad Day on the Midway" video game again!) If someone wants to come on here and bad mouth Yello saying they use unethical business practices I'm going to defend them. You all should. Daniel, The only info we have on the Yello remix contest is that it is apparently scheduled to start Nov 17th. Apparently Bostich and Oh Yeah will be the tracks that will be remixed. No rules or info other than that have been released. The Bostich tracks released on Beatport I am assuming are for the remix contest. No confirmation of that has been made. So we really no nothing for sure. Beatport still shows the Tiesto remix contest as the current one. , Jonathan

"the only way to be reputable" .....What are you talking about? It's a contest. They set the parameters. If this is what they give you to work with, then thats what you work with. They could run a contest without supplying any files if they wanted. They could of made each artist fend for themselves. Make them find their own bostich tracks and have to extract their own audio files. What they supply you with has nothing to do with how professional or reputable the company is. Yello and Beatport already have outstanding reputations. The idea is to find the most talented and creative remix artist. Wether the contestants are given one 64kbps audio file with Dieter saying the word "Bostich" or they are given total access to Boris's complete library of audio master files. Doesn't make any difference. The contestant is required to make a remix with whatever is supplied under contest rules. Either way the most talented and creative remixer will win. They won't complain about what they are given. They will take the files and make miracles. Thats what this contest is all about. Getting Touch Yello in the states...

Ideal Copy out of Arizona has had the Jewel Case and Digi-Pak for awhile now. They just posted the LP for pre-order. Will be released overseas Tuesday. Then it must be shipped to USA so it will be a few days after that before they can ship it to customers. Touch Yello has not been released in the US yet. These US suppliers are getting it as an international import. So expect delays and a little higher prices. http://www.idealcopy.com/

If anyone is having a problem getting a copy of the new album here in the states, I would recommend ordering from "a different drum".
