Jon and Greg,
Thanks for making the documentary available. It was very interesting to
watch the documentary, I've never seen so much of Dieter (or Bryan Ferry
for that matter) at one time before. I hadn't realized Dieter was so dug
in to Argentina - but many Europeans are and also they are into organic
farming too. But I never think of famous people of having lives other
than their performing ones. The documentary reveals Dieter to be playful
(the scenes in the clothing store), environmentatlly conscious, a good
host (to a difficult guest IMHO) and entering middle age gracefully. I
liked the part when Ferry asks him "is this your car?" and Dieter
replies "no" almost as if the idea were repugnant to him. He could
probably afford several Maybachs without batting an eye, but would
rather spend his money on more worthwhile things than cars. At least,
that's the impression I got.
And if you're even in Zurich, you could go visit his store and meet
someone (the guy behind the counter) who's on a first-name basis with
Dieter, maybe even see the man himself!
Thanks again to both of you.
