Information/Resolutions for Wednesday's General Session - Transfer of Public Lands

Good Monday Fellow WSLC Members, I have been asked to forward the following information to you regarding Wednesday's General Session where we will be discussing the Transfer of Public Lands Act. Attached are two resolutions - one supporting the transfer and lands and one opposing it. The resolutions will be discussed on Wednesday following our speaker's presentations. I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday at noon in the Copper Room. -- Members, the Energy/Natural Resources/Agriculture & Environment Legislative Study Committee invites you to spend some time learning about a major issue facing the state of Utah: The Transfer of Public Lands Act. Utah has a terrific web site housing everything pertaining to the business of the state. You can follow the first link to read the bill that started this movement. The second link will take you to a listing of the interim committee studying our lands, air and water. You can read the minutes from the meetings or listen to recordings of the meetings. The third link will take you to the economic analysis of the impacts of this bill, and the last two links are professional legal studies of the bill and its potential impacts. We have an informative meeting planned for February 11 th . We invite you to take some time this weekend to learn more about these issues. 2012 House Bill 148 This bill initiated The Transfer of Public Lands Act. Sylvia Rickard - Funeral/Memorial Service Update

I wanted to take a minute to provide an update on Sylvia's funeral services. The services in Boise on Saturday will be for her family only. WLSC has sent flowers. Dear WSLC Members, It is with a sad heart we must let you know our dear past president Sylvia Rickard passed away last night. While we do not have all of the details yet, we do know her funeral will be held in Boise, Idaho this coming Saturday, December 20. We will send additional details when we receive them. Hello Fellow WSLC Members, We wanted to send a reminder to our member to remember to vote tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4. If you are unsure of your polling location you can find it here: www.vote.utah.gov . Both the Democratic and Republican State Parties have victory parties planned for Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City. Everyone is welcome to attend one or both of the parties. You will find most people gathered in the ballrooms of both hotels, but you may want to wander around because many candidates and organizations have their own rooms in the hotels as well. Both gatherings are open to the public and they will be following national, state, and local races. WSLC General Session - Wednesday, March 5

Good Afternoon Fellow WSLC Members, Our next Women's State Legislative Council General Session will be this Wednesday, March 5 at noon in the Spruce Room. We will discuss water rights (S.B. 211) and Public Water Access (H.B. 37). You will find both bills we will be discussing on the WSLC Participatory Citizen App ( www.wslcofutah.org ). You will find a copy of the bylaws and proposed amendments on our website: www.wslcofutah.org . We will continue the discussion on Article VIII Meetings on page 53. It is amazing we are nearing the end of the document. After Article VIII we have only Articles IX Elections, X Quorum, XI Parliamentary Authority, and XII Amending of Bylaws remaining. Our Parliamentarian, Kathy Boyer, has said she will continue to make herself available before the board meeting, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria, to help members with amendments or clarification. Please watch for a separate email containing the membership list for WSLC.
