Although this isn't the first star party we've ever held at Wheeler Farm, it is the first this year and the first at this location at Wheeler. Also it is an experimental star party, which wasn't on our schedule. Very cool! It doesn't seem too far off from what we originally thought. Just more layers of convection. Refining the theory. Its funny this came out now. Patrick, That's a great set of pictures documenting the local navigation arrows. Thanks for posting a link to their images along with their exact locations. With all those arrows captured and documented, where do we go from here? Exploring further west or south, restoration, or something else? Ed

I arrived late, close to 9pm, the skies were about 50-60% covered. As the night continued, so did the clearing. By 10:30 it was pretty much clear of any clouds. Seeing wasn't the greatest due to the humidity and moon. Had fun showing the public numerous brighter Messier objects. Had a 16 yr old running my Dob for a while, showing her how to star hop and search for the object. A good night! Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Your skies seemed to be better than here. It was pretty cloudy when I went out around 10PM. Tonight is looking good, but I have to go to work early tomorrow morning. If I set up I’ll only get about 30 minutes of viewing time. I have to get my beauty sleep. Dave

How were the skies at SPOC last night? It was a little cloudy here in St. George. There were clouds this morning, too. It’s supposed to be clear the rest of this week. We’ll see. Dave
