I observed both objects Sunday night. Your CCD camera really brings out the detail. What refractor are you using? Beautiful pictures. Glad the weather cooperated last weekend. Looks like my reply got lost again. Outstanding photos Don. Were they all with the 9¼" or did you use something else also? They're all great but I love that Horsehead. Citizen Sky Planetarium Show About Epsilon Aurigae, Narrated by Timothy Ferris

In case some of you haven't seen this, its been out since June and I am thinking I have seen it at least once, but forgot about it, here is the video on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY9aPuO_Aew I think it is a wonderful interpretation of what is going on. If you want to hear more about the making of it and possibly how you can get a copy (?) (they mention that in the podcast), you can listen to the podcast over at Slacker Astronomy (their website) for their October 7th podcast. Very interesting, it was at least to me. http://www.slackerastronomy.org/wordpress/category/audio-podcasts/ Got out last night for a father son showing and did the fall tour with my son. We got M31, 32, 110, the Double Cluster, NGC 457, Comet Hartley which I sketched, M27, M57, M22, the Lagoon and Trifed, Swan and Eagle Nebula; the Wild Duck Cluster and some NGC galaxies over in Pegasus that my son wanted a go at and he got. Of all the things I have done, am doing or will do with this hobby, nothing, and I mean nothing beats being out under the stars with my son running the scope and showing me stuff and talking. Seeing was okay, transparency not so good but the time was well spent. We plan to head out on Wednesday since the crescent moon won't be too bad and fades later in the evening.

Cool! Did the wind bother you much? I was out last night near Virgin, UT and we wondered whether to setup at about 7:30. The wind finally died down after it got dark but the seeing was marginal.
