Yes, sorry about the site being down for a bit. We were sent a firmware update to fix a potential security problem on our DSL router and the update ended up trashing our router. I had to perform a firmware recovery process (which fortunately already included the needed update)and then had to totally reconfigure the router after it was restored - and I had to work it all around feeding the baby, etc. so it took a little while. Its all fine now though. If you ever discover it down in the future, feel free to call to make sure we're aware of it - 253-4135. All the public and private star parties are listed on the Events Calendar on the website. You can click on the event to bring up details which include times and addresses where possible. Eyepiece seminar indefinitely ON HOLD

In the shop today, looking over my workload for the next few months, it is plainly obvious that I will not have the time for the eyepiece "seminar" for several months, at least. I am therefore putting it on hold for an indefinite amount of time. It may even be next fall or winter before I can devote the time needed to do it right. Each eyepiece "kit" takes about three or four hours to produce. You can see that making just 20 of these runs into a lot of time. I'm supposed to finish a basement this summer, too, somehow. I am very sorry about this, but it cannot be avoided. I'm working 60+ hour weeks and there just isn't any time for fun stuff for a while. I have good news to report: SLAS has received a generous grant of $1,500.00 from RTMC Astronomy Expo toward the acuisition of an OTA for the new accessible telescope for persons with disabilities. In the coming days/weeks (or whatever it takes) we will be shopping for a suitable SCT tube assembly for use on the mount already completed by Bruce Grim. We hope we can find a 14-inch scope; therfore, if anyone is aware of a second-hand scope that might be available, please contact Bruce, Siegried Jachmann or me and let us know. Way to go SLAS! Kim A. Just wondering... would anyone be interested in posting on a web forum? Or any clubs having their own specific forum or a category within a forum? I just found this very cool skin that would look nice on an astronomy based forum. I have the ability to set up and host forums free of charge... so I was just wondering if it'd be worth it.
