Well, you're almost there. Don't apply the outgoing filter. Alternatively write an different outgoing filter that allows everything. Anybody know what the Hex return part is on this OID?

When I do an snmpwalk <HiperARC ip> <community> .1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.10.1.1.18 I get some user names with a hex part as shown below while most are just the user names. Using separate IP-pools for different Modem-groups

Hi there. I have an interesting scenario for which I am not sure there is a solution. I have a 3Com chassis running Hiper ARC (ver 5.3.105) and a number of Hiper DSP cards (ver 3.5.13). The requirement essentially is to have users assigned an IP address based on the port they dial into on the NAS. I have setup 2 separate IP-pools on the Hiper ARC, and have setup 2 different modem-groups. Each of the modem-groups is associated with a separate dial-in number. Is there a way to link each modem group to its own IP-pool on the NAS? I have seen that the either of IP-pools can be prioritized, or set up for a round-robin usage but this is essentially not going to solve the problem. I think a solution may also exist where radius assigns an IP address from separate IP pools based on the user who is connecting. Any insight into this? Cheers, Patrick Ndegwa,

How to Enable PPP Compression?

Any ideas what has to be done to enable compression? I've heard that if your users get MPPC compression that the performance is much better. >From what I can find, looks like all I need is the CCP_MODEMTYPE_ACCEPT enabled, but it's not happening. Any ideas? Am I missing something here? Questions....

I recently aquired a TC1000.... I know nothing about it... no manual's.. no software came with it... It has the following cards in it: HiPer DSP Card (two of them) Quad V.34 Modem Analog/Dig Modem EdgeServer Pro HiPer NMC PSU (two of them) Can anyone give me more info on any of these items? I've tried to get into them via the Console cable off the back of the unit, but I don't think it uses the same cable as the Cisco's do.... or someone reset the baud rate on the ports and it's not the default. The EdgeServer Pro currently runs NT 4.0... is this needed for correct operation of the unit? I've seen unit's like this w/o the EdgeServer in them, and they work just fine I am told. I'm wanting to replace NT with Linux or BSD on it for DNS Cache in the unit is why I ask. What are the HiPer DSP Cards capable of? I'm use to Cisco and Lucent (Ascend) equipment... first timer on a TC unit. Thanks for the info!!
