there is no password on the console as the default you just have to press ENTER once you are prompted, unless of course it has been set previously. 6 Channel Multilink

We are trying to establish a 6 channel multilink connection using 3 ISDN lines. We are able to connect with 2 channels and get a 128K connection, but after we try to bring up the third channel, the connection becomes unuseable and soon disconnects. We are using a cisco router with 3 BRI interfaces, and have been working with Cisco to build a config that makes this work. They say it is possible and should work with our current config. My quetion is, has anyone else been able to do something like this? The most channels we have ever bonded has been 2, so I am not sure if there is something I am missing. Radius is authenticating the user just fine, so I don't believe it is a cause of the problem. Is this something that can be done? If so, are there any special configuration options I should be looking at? Help with OLD gear

Hi, Looking for someone with good knowledge of Netserver-era TC stuff... I have an old 45A chassis with an NMC, Netserver PRI, and 6 "Quad Analog" cards (hw rev. 0.2.0 and 2.0.0) with analog NICs. These modems all show up as "AIP" on the Netserver. If I stick in a newer Quad Digital card in the chassis, it comes up fine as "ARP", but it's kind of useless, since it can't talk to an analog NIC. I don't go back that far, the oldest card I ever saw was a Quad Analog/Digital. Is there a chance that these analog cards were not made to work with the Netserver? I can talk to them on the DTE ports on the analog nics, so they work, but I don't see a way to tell them NOT to talk to the DTE ports but to use the packet bus. Someone also mentioned that they may talk to a Netserver, but NOT a Netserver PRI. Any truth in that? I just don't know about stuff that old, and any docs for this stuff are long gone from the Commworks site it seems. Thanks, Charles -- Charles Sprickman spork(a)inch.com

they come with the peripherals nic and 10baseT ethernet nic. Edgeserver pro would have somilar nics but the ethernet is 10/100. Most honorable ARC OSPF masters

I have attempted, and failed, to remove RIP from my network and replace with OSPF. I am shamed and humiliated that I must now ask for assistance with so surely simple a matter, belying my stupidity and laziness. If also not for my cowardice, I would beat myself silly for such offense to sensible honorable people such as yourself. ARC: V5.2.102, v5.0.9 yesterday, same situation I do believe. IE, not a bug I don't think. I bug in the setter-upper (me). I am talking with my OSPF neighbors (good), I am sending a route for my dialpool (so is sending <a> route via OSPF), but, RADIUS users with static IP's, no OSPF route is being sent. Local route being created, yes. Turn RIP back on, whammo, the Rip Route is there as pretty as can be. I looked around in HARM under OSPF, then the modem groups for options relating, just didn't find anything. I'm sure there's got to be some option I'm missing. Network option? Modem Group option? Radius option? Global option? Also, can I set an option for the ARC to not become the master/backup for OSPF? Jus' makes me nervous that it becomes the BDR, though surely it works fine.... restricting access to specif interface

Got about two scenarios in here that need some suggestions and expert advice from the list: a. I will be doing Virtual Port Hosting services and i would like to restrict my clients' access to a specified number of interfaces as agreed upon. TC-1000 has 14 HiperDSP,HARC,HNMC with the latest codes on it. I would only allow him access to 3 HiperDSPs. Client will be given pilot number to dial-in for their access. Question: 1. How do i restrict the access of this particular client only to the given interfaces. And if a none allowed username dialed into those interfaces it would be rejected, call will be dropped? Im looking into the "set swithed interfaces" and "set modem" commands just not sure if it will do the trick. b. What if my client will be implementing pre-paid internet cards services, if i will implement a username/password on the interfaces, how will the accounting for these pre-paid users get tracked since in my understanding (please do correct me if it's wrong) if authentication was done locally TC does not provide accounting logs to the configured RADIUS server. -- Best regards, Gen ================================== Gen Camiling Chief Technical Officer International Micro Village, Inc.
