What are most people running now on their T1 based HiperDSP, 128M ARC and HiperNMCs? We are using 2.1.9 DSP, 4.2.32-1 HiperARC (or 5.1.99-x) and 6.2.17 (or 7.2.8) HiperNMC. (usr-tc) DSP + ISDN DOVBS

Hi, We just had our Cisco 3620, which handled all of our ISDN calls, go up in smoke. I have a number of free DSP cards, so I decided I'd take our one PRI for ISDN and plug it into one of those. The good part is that I've got the trunk settings correct, as the telco sees everything OK, as do I. Calls are answered. My problem is forcing it to not answer with modem tones. All of our users are home users dialing "DOVBS" or basically placing a data call that looks (and most importantly is billed like) a voice call. Anyone have any hints on making ISDN go? The trunk is good, and I can do what I need in radius to get the routing going, it's just getting the thing to answer ISDN... So there are two DSPs in the 70A AC bundle? (usr-tc) Total Control Program

Hello all. I am new to this list and have recently started helping out a associate ISP that has TC boxes and TC programs to handle the boxes. I have looked through the recent archives, but could not find the answers to my basic (and probably stupid) questions. These are older TC boxes running TC Radius on an older NT server. I recently upgraded their main server to a new Dell box with 2000 and installed Access to handle the DB, but apparently they cannot find the original TC programs :-| Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the programs so that I can get the new server up and running? I have looked all over for a source but have had no luck as of yet and I am not too keen on calling 3COM, yet.... Thanks in advance for any help on this. I am new at the TC stuff as I have been running Ascend boxes with Emerald for years so my expertise lies in that arena so far :-)) Paul M. (usr-tc) HiPer DSP failure, suggestions?

If anyone has guesses as to the cause, let me know. BACKGROUND: HiPer DSP was handling a full call load from a PRI circuit causing approxmately 10 minutes of severely errored seconds per 24 hour window. I should mention all the other PRIs at the POP are having local loop problems. Card was maintained under 75 degrees. PROBLEM: Remotely booted TC by placing DSPs in local-out, disconnecting DSP calls, taking DSPs out of service, taking ARC out of service, issued soft reset on NMC. The card in question did not come back up then or after reseating the card. Reseating the card results in the "rainbow" test pattern, then later stops with a red Run/ail light, an orange 40% light, and the below console output with no keyboard response: SDL2 for the PPC403 Flash image has valid CRC, Loading Image Dignostic Power-Up Failure Manufacturing Info -> 1AAA13M0 Mode/Env -> 1/0 Fault Code -> 0-8-25-1 Expected Data -> f01c1f28 Received Data -> e01c1f28 Text Message -> Address Equals Data Test Failure Info Message -> Second read failed. Hard error indicated. Reality probablely is that the card is hosed. I'm more interested in the why. Hi, we think that we have a bad modem or two in our USR chassis. How do I go about checking for it? I am more used to PortMasters and I am used to checking with show modem and looking at the number of calls on each modem. Any ideas? (usr-tc) Quad Analog Modem Problems

Hi, I am having problems with some Quad Analog modem cards that I have installed, I cannot get them to stay active I do set modem s49 active and it all appears to work, then I save and reset then I get whats below. the modems report A/I/P then after a reset they go A/A/P but I cant get them A/R/P. Basically the modem is not active because it cannot successfully negociate with the packet bus(I think). after a reset my syslog reports: Apr 28 14:05:19 dialup9.dataheart.net S49 packet bus handle opened. Handle = 26. After this the netserver reports the modem as active all though there is still no HDLC Framing and the interface is still set to Unassigned instead of ptp49 as it usually is. then 30 seconds later: Apr 28 14:05:49 dialup9.dataheart.net S49 packet bus failed to connect! stat=-1 Apr 28 14:05:49 dialup9.dataheart.net S49 packet bus handle closed. now the netserver reports it as inactive again. I have Quad Digital/Analog cards working fine in the same chassis but these Quad Analogs are just not co-operating. any help would be appreciated, the 3com knowledgebase has not helped me.
