Hello everybody, Giovanni here. Long time no news from me..... Just a short note about the 'money issue' with Sting getting paid that much for a private concert deal. He's never been too far from this, he's done things like that in the past for important names of the arabic world (sheiks) and I'm sure none of us would say no to such great amount of money...or am I wrong??? Of course it's a sort of slap in the face comparing to people like most of us that works hours and hours a day to get a few bucks in our pockets, but I think that nobody ever gave something for free to Sting to arrive where he is now. He did his choices in the past, he gave up fighting for a certain kind of life up in Newcastle, betting on his own....you know how many people failed doing the same? Well, he made it and why should he now say no to what he fought for for year? All of us wold do it I'm pretty sure about this, let's all be more realistic....like it or not....and getting some money out of Bill pockets isn't that tragic, what do you think? He has those money..and I think he spent them very well this time.... Let me see what I have in my pockets....ok, not even enough to have Sting here to play one single note....ahahahah! But that's not true....I will spend 40 Euros to have him playing in Milano on November 30th, and he will sing many more songs in front of the crowd in Milan.....what a greedy man am I... He's not only one lucky bastard, but a greedy one too! Hope he makes a lovely donation to the rain forest. :) Let the sell-out/ not a sell-out thread begin!! Microsoft head Bill Gates is reportedly paying just under $500,000 to have Sting perform a handful of songs (I heard it was 8) at his upcoming 50th birthday party. The party is to take place later this month at the uber-swanky Supper Club in New York... Veteran rocker Sting will earn a staggering $486,000 (380,000) this month, when he plays at a party being thrown by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates. The former Police frontman will play just eight songs at the New York event, thereby earning $60,750 (47,500 )per track. Gates, 49, is hosting the bash at the city's Supper Club to celebrate his 50th birthday.
