I don't know how many of you have the iTunes Music Store, they just released the Windows version FYI. One of their features is Celebrity Playlists, and Sting is one of them. Sting to Present Britain's Bad Sex Award

I found this interesting article online today: Dec 2, 12:08 pm ET LONDON (Reuters) - No embarrassment will be spared on Wednesday when rock star Sting presents one of Britain's least-desired literary awards -- the Bad Sex in Fiction Award. Now in its 11th year, the dubious honor is awarded by the Literary Review magazine for the most inept description of sexual intercourse in a novel. Nominated authors for this year's prize include John Updike, Paul Theroux, Paulo Coelho and Alan Parker. Among the climactic passages in the contest is one from former BBC radio executive Rod Liddle's "Too Beautiful for You." "She came with the exhilarating whoops and pant-hoots of a troop of Rhesus monkeys, which was flattering, if alarming." Motoring themes are to the fore. In Tama Janowitz's "Peyton Amberg" a lover's intimate probing of the heroine is "as if he was searching for lost car keys," while in Aniruddha Bahal's "Bunker 13" a female partner "picks up a Bugatti's momentum." Musical metaphors are also well represented. The multi-orgasmic female narrator of Paolo Coelho's "Eleven Minutes" reaches Heaven -- "I was the earth, the mountains, the tigers, the rivers that flowed into the lakes, the lake that became the sea." Sting, who once boasted that yoga had improved his sexual endurance, will present the prize Wednesday evening after each of the competing passages have been read to a 500-strong audience. Hi! I've been trying to get tickets for RAH gigs in London, I got the passcode etc. but the ticketmaster website says after asking the code that I'm not coming via Sting.com!!! And ofcourse I am!! Anyone else having same trouble?? I'm losing the tickets.... T I M O

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time

Is it a list of the 500 greatest ROCK albums of all time, or is it a list of the 500 greatest MUSIC albums of all time? If it's the latter, then taking into consideration all the classics and standards from the 20s to the 50s (i.e. Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, etc.), it's a very high honor indeed for any of the Police's albums, much less four of them, to even make it onto the list. Thanks for the link to the Rolling Stone article. It made me laugh! Glad to hear he doesn't take P. Diddy's recording too seriously -- and he says they "take your shit, put it on a record and deal with the legality later." He's probably right, P. Diddy's grandchildren will rerecord "Every Breath You Take". Dont read on if you dont want to know the rankings of The Police albums. The Police have a good showing with 4 of their 5 proper albums in the top 500 - only Zenyatta not appearing. The highest being Ghost at 322, Regatta 369, Outlandos 434, Synchronicity 455. These are all lower than top 500 lists done like 10 years ago. I also noted that no Sting album made it in the top 500. But I am glad to see The Police work still to be recognized and lasting - though highest at 322 seems a bit low to me but that what these lists are good at doing - sparking debate. Is anyone on this list surprised Ghost was the top ranked Police album by Rolling Stone magazine?
