I remember someone mentioning the keel pivot pin, or stop pin on some of the M-Boats has to be removed in one direction because the pin and hole are tapered. If someone knows the model and the direction of push, I sure could use the info. Bill

M15 :Wild Conditions

'Frank'ly ,crying "mummy"(don't forget to suck your thumb) doesn't answer the question of how the M15 would react in those trying conditions, only you personally.Surely, naval architects/engineers ,if only in the theoretical sense, must consider the limits of a design . How the human element reacts is "all over the map" and,of course, contributes to or detracts from the M15's performance. I find that thinking about stuff like this between bouts of shovelling snow helps to pass the winter- it is indeed safer than boozing and whoring around! Cheers, Harry Elmslie

The latest issue of Small Craft Advisor arrived today, and none other than our own Tom Smith has a great little story on sailing Tristan Jones Sea Dart on Idaho's Coeur D' Alene Lake. Well written, with a nice touch of Tom's wry wit. I would rather have seen a picture of the "lovely pump girl" that he almost ran over, instead of his mug at the helm, but otherwise a nice read. Another two cents worth from the Ozarks: Mark's post on 1 December gave directions to the West Marine, and it does look good, but I much prefer my "Crazy Creek Original Chair" found at www.crazycreek.com/ interior.cfm?page=detail&item=1 I bought one many years ago for canoe camping, my back couldn't take sitting around the campfire at night without support. At five bucks cheaper, I feel it is not only a better buy, but much better construction. Check the specs on both. I use mine in the cockpit for sailing, and in the cabin for reading before nodding off at night when anchored out. Do it now! Karl Marx was wrong ("Drink is the curse of the working class"). WORK is the curse of the sailing class! We had a gorgeous early December day on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas this week. Blue skies with a few high clouds to the southwest, temperature in the mid 50s, water the same, and a fine breeze from the southwest. Nice to be out of work - retired - and a lovely little Montgomery 15 to enjoy sailing all year around. 4 thumbs up for the Crazy Creek chairs - have two - one uses my sleeping pad as padding (inflatable) and as a bonus the seats are vary flexible and easy to stow! My wife also enjoys hers.
