Hmmmm...West Marine has carraige bolts with just a small threaded end, the rest being smooth. IIRC, all WM steel bolts are stainless. Perhaps you can find one long enough at your local store that will work?? Harvey/Ga M-17 Stargazer #294

Poking around the West Marine website, I find they are somehow allied with an outfit called "onlinemetals" -- their full url: http://www.onlinemetals.com They seem pretty cool. Their prices seem very good. m-15 pivot pin

In the process of powerwashing my boat this morning, my friend discovered that the pin that holds the centerboard in the keel is missing. Does anyone know what I would use to replace it? Do you seal around the pin somehow? My friend asked about using 5200 marine sealant. We also found a small void (ding? hole?) in the hull under the water line. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for filling that. It isn't very deep but obviously has to be taken care of. Cherri M-15 #322 Cherri's Jubilee

Hi Montgomery Listers, I also responded to Jerry's centerboard interest question, asking for estimated prices for each. Saying that I would make a decision and if it was go ahead (unfortunately, I do have to have to ask the price before ordering) I would send a deposit. I noted that the glass board would be more practical, though I like the stop tang feature of the iron board very much. My boat is plenty stiff so I do not believe that the weight would make much practical difference. That noted, a bronze board would be "really special" while a fiberglass board would be, well, just a board. The classic Morgan 34s with the bronze board option are more highly prized than those with the standard fiberglass board.
