The Italian newspaper "La Stampa" published last Friday an interview with Ralf Hutter about TDF2003 (still unpublished in Italy). Contents: the usual stuff. Notable lines follow. "We haven't been inactive during the last 17 years. We restructured our studio and transferred all sounds into a computer, did some computer graphics work (?) with Emil Schult, made a remix album and wrote a track for the Hannover Expo." "The Siouxsie version of 'Hall of Mirrors' is extraordinary, as well as the cover versions by Alex Balanescu. We liked very much the Senor Coconut album too." "We are preparing a multimedia tour due to start at the beginning of 2004. After our experience at la Citè de la Musique in Paris we're looking for other architectonically unusual places. In Italy there's a lot of them. In Turin they have that building with a car race track on the roof - it would be perfect." As far as I know, every genuine Playstation 1 game is on black CD. Christophe. Does anyone know about cds with a black (rather than the usual silver) playing side...what's the technology here. I thought they were blank, but they do play very well!. Just found one from Taiwan (?) for Computer World. It comes from the same pressing plant as regular Taiwan cds. The artwork for the sleeve is an exact copy of the original, while the inside booklet is much more colorful. The only other 'black-backed' CD the seller had was one for Iggy Pop's Raw Power (sound quality is excellent for both). SOundtracks in up from 11 to 9 in the 'International Artists Chart' for EMI Hong Kong. Trying to get a true picture of copies sold in HK is probably impossible because of the highly subjective nature (sales) of the record industry here. 'The Model' is being used to advertise a forthcoming Hong Kong tv programme about U.S. models. The original long station promo featured the song playing with 'karaoke' words at the bottom of the screen, now they're using a shorter version with different model clips. Autobahn

A documentary on German Autobahn was recently aired in History Channel. The programme describes its construction and development. It is almost surely a coincidence but by watching the documentary you realize that Autobahn lyrics has very similarities to Nazi propaganda of what such a highway would involve. By the way, incredibly Kraftwerk's Autobahn is not played in the soundtrack. I think the metal layer underneath the plastic is coated somehow. Remember the gold audiophile CDs?
