Late as always, but... if you move those cuts to 3:02, you will have a much better transition, since the second part of your mix has some hihats the first part hasn't. If you use the 3:02 marker, you will have a transition at the "trumpet break", which blends completely into each other without skipping or errors.
I was going to disagree until I realized you must have meant placing the edit in the MIDDLE of the trumpet break which works as well. Ultimately it probably doesn't matter. I chose my edit because after Whitney sings her heart out at 5.58 the next bit is so drastic an edit you could jump to there from virtually anywhere. However I agree that the Whitney vocal with the hihats you include is more pleasing to the ears than the earlier version which I use. FYI - I also wound up replacing the trumpet bit which turns up at 46 seconds from the end of either cut or the original. There's a high pitched tone at the start of it which annoys me so I just dropped in a loop from an earlier part of the track. -paul
