I was going to disagree until I realized you
must have meant placing the edit in the MIDDLE of the trumpet break which works
as well.
Ultimately it probably doesn't matter.
I chose my edit because after Whitney
sings her heart out at 5.58 the next bit is so drastic an edit you could jump to
there from virtually anywhere. However I agree that the Whitney vocal with
the hihats you include is more pleasing to the ears than the earlier
version which I use.
FYI - I also wound up replacing the trumpet
bit which turns up at 46 seconds from the end of either cut or the
original. There's a high pitched tone at the start of it which annoys me
so I just dropped in a loop from an earlier part of the track.
