GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users The water has been turned back on to the docks and the pump-a-head. But this is for a short time only. We will be winterizing the park on Monday, October 22nd. So utilize the water and pump-out services while they last. Once the water is turned off on October 22nd the only place that will have water is the freezeless faucet at the Ranger Dock, the freezeless faucets in the parking lot and the buildings in the marina. Small Craft Advisory Fairly strong winds up to 30 knots (35 mph) are possible and/or sea conditions dangerous to small-craft operations are forecast for the Great Salt Lake Marina Area. GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users Due to the pending storm temperatures we have had to shut the water off to the docks and the pump-a-head. Temperatures are forecasted to be below zero for two nights in a row. Temperatures after the storm passes look favorable to be able to turn the water back on next Tuesday. A Glimmer Of Hope

GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users. We have a glimmer of hope for next year. I have just received the most recent "Intermountain West Clinate Summary". It looks like good news. I Quote: "HYDROLOGICAL CONDITIONS - Drought is expected to persist over southern Utah, but drought conditions may improve over Wyoming and northern Utah due to the expected development and persistence of La Nina." This forecast matches NOAA's recent prediction for La Nina and the Intermountain West. Both forecasts tend to indicate that the areas of water source for the Great Salt Lake may see some improvement in October and this winter. Water Shut-off date

GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users We are quickly approaching that time of year where we will be shutting down the water system to most of the marinafor the winter. It is necessary to shut off the water to parts of the marina to keep from freezing lines and doing damage to the water system. This damage, when it occurs, can be very expensive and time consuming to repair. The effected areas are: 1. Water to all the docks 2. The porta-potty rinse station 3. The Pump-A-Head. The scheduled date is Monday, October 22nd (three weeks from today). We may extend this date if weather permits but I would plan on doing your last pump-out and boat wash as soon as possible. NOTE: THIS DATE MAY BE EFFECTED IF WE HAVE A FREEZE LIKE LAST SATURDAY. We would then be forced to turn the water off earlier than expected. This is why I would utilize the water as soon as possible. If there is a need to turn the water off before that time we will try to keep you posted. Water will remain on for the whole winter in the following areas: 1. The freezelss faucet at the Ranger Dock 2. The freezeless faucets in the parking lot and the rinse stations. 3.
