Tomorrow, Saturday, Jacie is playing at the Joseph Smith memorial bldg from 3-4:30 in their lobby. I'm going to take my other 2 to hear her play. I have room for 2 more of any of y'all want a distraction from the weeks sorrows. We could grab a treat or something to eat afterwards. Mary

Dividing mom and dads things

I’ve been thinking on this, i hope I say this right because my brain is a little scattered right now. I would like to see the diving of our parents things be a little more with a conversation. I don’t want to say this wrong, but even more so I don’t want hurt feelings. I know there was a list made for larger items, and while I’m good with requests, I think it should be to Blaine and Carolyns children and then as they want for their kids it goes through the parent. For instance if I chose the chop saw as something I really want then Its up to me if I want to give my choice to briton. And if I knew Blaine really wanted the chop saw, I’d let him chose it over me for briton. (And no, briton does not want a chop saw.😂) I know there is a lot of stuff and many opportunities to find what will bring a memory or connection with grandparents. I’d be happy to send out this list and be that connection, but ideally would be to gather and talk. Barb

Mom update

The hospice Dr was just here. Mom is near to passing. This is hard to ask & I know even harder to do. Please pray for Mom to be released from this life. She's suffering. She's ready. If we could keep her here, as heathy mom, we'd keep her forever. Last night I told her "Dad's coming for you." She replied very sadly, "Eventually".

Mom update

Just wanted to give an update on Mom. The hospice nurse came today. Side wants us giving mom morphine (predosed & filed syringes) every 2 hours around the clock. This is help with the pain she's begun having as well as help her relax. Last night was horrible. She was pounding on her stomach & couldn't be stopped. She was in much pain. She wasn't herself (up until then she has been). After morphine, she calmed & was able to sleep. The nurse said if we keep her dose steady on the morphine, we won't be trying to play catch up. Please pray for her to new able to pass. It's very much what she wants. Love, Mary

I'm going to double up on the email, to y'all and Gardner's tribe. This will be more detailed so feel free to ignore the other. Kelly called me tonight to give me an update on Mitsi & ask that I share with my siblings. Tonight her family moved her to a care facility. Mitsi made her wishes very clear to them but he said it was still hard to do. They were hoping she could stay at home until she passed. Mikel found an outstanding place for her to be & they're grateful for that. Mitsi wouldn't allow her boys to change the dressings on her wounds but would allow Dianna & Mikel. The boys wanted to help so very much more than she would allow (which was frustrating to her sons). Her needs became more than the amazing daughters & the hospice nurse could care for. I will find out the name/address of the care center. Love, Mar

Moms phone

FYI We cancelled moms home phone through Century link and have switched her home phone number to a service called Magic Jack. It costs her less AND gives her caller id which she hasn't had in years. SAME PHONE NUMBER. So if you call and get a phone message that says magic jack you'll know that yes it's still mom. At her request I canceled her cell phone a month or so ago since she rarely used it. Just so you know, she checks her email often. Also she may keep phone conversations short, but she seems to hear better on the phone than in person. So hearing or reading something from you is greatly appreciated. Love Barb

Videos of Dad for Mom

Yesterday Mom told me that it feels like Dad is disappearing. That soon she won't be able to remember him or have proof that he really was here all those years. I'm wondering if videos of Dad might help Mom. If you have videos you can share with Mom please do! She can watch DVDs on her computer. Or any format that would be Mom-friendly, or easy for her to learn.
