POT to TGA - It Works!
It works! I used Gerald K. Dobiasovsky's pot2tga utility to convert a POT generated plasma to TGA format. A resulting file is available as a PNG at http://maxitersfractalfollies.blogspot.com because Flickr which I use to host my graphics files for my blog won't accept TGA files and I then had to convert formats one more time. Thanks to Gerald K. Dobiasovsky for responding to my request and Paul N. Lee for making the zip file available. Roger Alexander
Roger, Try starting Fractint with the startup parameter: truecolor=yes This will create TGA files. There is another option, truemode=def or truemode=iter, that lets you output either the colors presently being used (def, it is the default so doesn't need to be set) or the iteration count. This probably doesn't provide the smoothing effect of the POT files. We might be able to add a truemode option that does exactly what you want. Jonathan
