It works!  I used Gerald K. Dobiasovsky's pot2tga utility to convert a POT generated plasma to TGA format.
A resulting file is available as a PNG at http://maxitersfractalfollies.blogspot.com
because Flickr which I use to host my graphics files for my blog won't accept TGA files
and I then had to convert formats one  more time. Thanks to Gerald K. Dobiasovsky for responding to my request and
Paul N. Lee for making the zip file available.
