Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's fractal is a pleasant diversion, a non-assuming image
that promises little and delivers all of what it promises. The
star-like scene lies in the 'East Valley' of the parent fractal
that appeared as the FOTD for May 30. But it lies much deeper
in the valley than yesterday's FOTD image, which also lies in
the same East Valley.
I have no idea where the rating of 7-1/2 came from, but it seems
about right, so why not go with it.
The name "Mandy Points the Way" is an equal mystery, since
today's parent fractal hardly resembles the Mandelbrot set.
The calculation time of just over 1-3/4 minutes is brief by any
standards, though not as brief as the lifetimes of certain sub-
atomic 'resonance' particles, which exist for such infitesimal
periods of time that they don't really exist at all.
One thing that surely exists however is the FOTD web site.

Midsummer conditions continued here at Fractal Central on
Monday, with hot but hazy sun, high humidity and a temperature
of 93F 34C. Early in the day the fractal cats sought the cool-
ness of the tile floor in the kitchen, and stretched out there
most all afternoon. FL spent the day puttering in her garden.
I spent the day watching her putter and offering occasional
helpful advice. The next FOTD, a moderately deep look into the
M-set, will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and
those with sharp tongues often make blunt statements.
