Fractal Central has moved

It looks like I will be able to resume the FOTD by the start of June. I hear the old fractal cats are doing fine with my sister. Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Because Fractal Central will be in the process of moving over the next several days, I will be unable to post the FOTD. But things should be up and running again by June 1 -- Thursday of next week. With things expected to become far more settled during June, the FOTD should soon resume its daily schedule. With more time devoted to finding them, the fractals should become better also. In the meantime, I will continue checking the lists, and perhaps posting a word or two. Jim M.

FOTD -- May 20, 2006 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene in the parent fractal that results when 1/10 part of Z^(-15.5) is subtracted from Z^(-1.6). With time growing short and much yet to be done, I have no time to describe the fractal. If all goes as planned, I will post another fractal in 24 hours. Then there is likely to be a week or so break. But despair not, within a week or two, things will rapidly be returning to normal . . . if all goes as planned, that is. FOTD -- May 19, 2003 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's noteworthy fractal pictures a midget lurking in the fractal that results when the formula Z^(2.5)+C is iterated 5 levels down the logarithmic ladder. The special effects were generated by rendering the image with the outside set to 'tdis'. I gave the image, which is actually quite routine, neither name nor rating. The render time of 32 minutes means it will be far more efficient to download the already-rendered image from the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> The fractal cats were puzzled about all the unusual activity here at Old Fractal Central on Thursday, but they still managed several hours in the holly thicket. A mid-afternoon sprinkle of rain did not deter them. With me, the packing is nearly complete, and if all goes well, the big move will be complete by next Tuesday the 23rd. I am somehow managing to keep both the real work and the fractal pseudo-work going. The next FOTD will probably appear in 24 hours, if not, it might appear in 48 hours. Be careful what you say. You know what happens to those who do not believe in fractal cats -- they get de-iterated. Indeed, there are two half-brother fractal cats, Tippy the tabby and Thomas the orange. They are as real as myself, (which BTW some philosophies say is not very real). Yes, I have promised to post photos of the fractal cats; no, I have not yet done so. But the cats are still healthy and neither they nor their house are going anywhere. I appreciate the offer of a camera to take their pictures with, but with things as confused as they are at the present time, and the two of us traveling unpredictably between the Old and New Fractal Central, it is questionable that it would reach me. When the move is completed and things have settled down, we will still often return to Old Fractal Central, which will become my sister's house, to visit the fractal cats. Be patient, my sister has a camera and the pictures of both the old and new fractal cats will come. The big question will be whether the old fractal cats will still be of the fractal variety when the fractalist no longer lives with them. And I apologize for not posting today's FOTD. The end of Old Fractal Central

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: As I write this, good Old Fractal Central is rapidly beind dismantled and packed into about 50 cartons. The fractal cats are in a state of confusion and aprehension mixed with typical cat curiosity. The big move is still scheduled for Monday May 22. The cats will not be moving with us, but will remain behind here at the place that had been Fractal Central. They are too old and set in their ways for such a big change. (Look who is talking about being old.) My sister will move into old FC the day after fractal lady and I move out. If anything, the fractal cats will get even more attention from her. I will try to post the scheduled FOTD on Thursday May 18 as promised. If I fail to do so, you will know I had no chance. The FOTD will resume its regular daily schedule as soon as we are settled in New Fractal Central. Jim M.
