Poets Sara Caldiero-Oertli and DerekHenderson will present their work on January13th at the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City ArtReading Series. Sara Caldiero-Oertli was born in New York and migrated to Utah to grow up. Her proximity to wilderness has playeda major roll in inspiring her to teach, write and perform. She is an aspiringbook artist but most of her time is spent making and teaching poetry. Herwork is centered on the body and understanding language. She enjoys bringingpoetry to desert adventurers and drifters on the street. Her most recentpublication, "Snatch 'N' Sniff" is available at Ken Sanders RareBooks. Derek Henderson is the author of two previous collections, Inconsequentia (withDerek Pollard), and Thus &, an Erasure of the Sonnets of Ted Berrigan,sections of which appear in the Anthology of Appropriation Literature. Hispoems have been published in journals such as Fence, Volt, Witness, BombayGin, and The Colorado Review. He currently teaches English at theWalden School of Liberal Arts in Provo, UT. City Art islongest running literary arts series in Salt Lake. We present authors of allgenres as well as artists and musicians on the first three Wednesdays of eachmonth at the Main Public Library from September to May. We feature both localas well as nationally and internationally acclaimed writers. Most featured readingsare followed by an open reading. City Art is sponsored by the Utah ArtsCouncil, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Catalyst,the Salt Lake City Public Library, Xmission, and the Zoo, Arts, and Park Fund.
