CLASSIFIED is the subject classification list for librarians.
This list exists to provide a community forum to connect with other librarians about the why and the how of subject-based classification. It's a place for librarians who are considering switching to a subject-based system, those who have already made the leap, and those who are working through some stage in between.
Feel free to ask questions, post links to resources that youve found useful or just intriguing, and share your knowledge, insights, and opinions.
Despite the name, CLASSIFIED is not meant to be kept secret. Please share this email list with your friends and colleagues.
The list is hosted by Backstage Library Works, but it's for librarians. We'll participate, but we're not here to control or dominate the conversation. If it seems that we -- or any other vendor or consultant -- might be pushing a commercial interest a little too hard, please let us know so we can ask people to dial it back a notch.
