The only article I ever saw on Act was in Blitz magazine prior to the release of "Snobbery and Decay." It was a really short interview with Claudia and Thomas, and they were just saying how Act was going to be a warmer sound from Propaganda. They also talked about how their inspiration for the project stemmed from Cabaret and Las Vegas excess. The article was printed over the photo from the S&D 12" of Claudia (spiked hair and unibrow) leaning against Thomas with the two people in the background. That's all I recall ever seeing apart from some slightly unkind album and singles reviews. I remember when the album finally came out, anything to do with ZTT seemed to be met by the music press with skepticism (at best) so I assumed that's why there wasn't much promotion. I remember writing to ZTT around that time and receiving an 8x10 Act promo photo of Claudia that had printed at the bottom, "Grace Under Pressure" which I thought under the circumstances was hilarious and brilliant. So anyway.. Anyone know of any other articles? It wasn't an article as such, but Claudia, Thomas and Stephen Lipson appeared on an episode of BBC1TV's "Tomorrow's World" where Howard Stableford (undoubtedly an expert in these things) was discovering electronic music. One got to see Trevor Horn's acolyte playing around with the Snobbery and Decay tracks etc etc. That must have been about fifteen years ago! Also, it was either in The Face or Blitz, but a magazine gave Claudia a Polaroid camera and we saw a dozen or so shots of a day in the life of Brucken circa Act. I recall it all being a little pretentious. I'm clutching at straws, I know.
